What does this mean for Terror Island?

With the addition of Dinosaurs Alive what is the future of Terror Island. If they remove it i will be very disappointing. Ive never actually been in Terror Island because im absolutely terrified and refuse to go in any haunted attraction besides Fear Fair. But from what ive heard Terror Island is the best in the park. They havent had it for that long so it would be really dumb to remover it. Is there any possible way you think they could keep it. Im sure the dinosaurs will need to be removed for the off season so couldnt they just take them out early?

Terror Island is probably gone. :(

They could easily just turn of the dinos... And still call it terror island. Maybe just not have pirates anymore.

you could turn off the dinos, but there is no removing them. that many animatronic pieces would be a nightmare to try to remove, move somewhere else for storage and then reassemble. The logistics and work that would go into that would be terrible. I suspect it get's moved to somewhere else or it gets a new theme

S.T.A. - died with the Fright Zone

I mentioned in the Halloweekends thread that Islands of Adventure had a Jurrassic Park scare zone in 2002 for Halloween Horror Nights. It was called JP:Extinction. I think the theme was the power was out and dinos were killing people, and the dying or crazed JP workers were scaring you too. They had a similar thing in 2008. That might be something that could pop up there.

I just thought of something that might sound really dumb but its an idea: Cant they just like put a black cloth or something to camouflage the dinosaurs like something made of leaves?

Or you could put a white cloth over the dinosaurs and make them look like ghosts. ;)

Really big ghosts.

and if you leave them on you've got really big ghosts that go RAWR! I think we're on to something here.

And then leave the dinosaurs with sensors on so it could be an interactive ghost.

...And there you have it. A fright zone is born.

Although you bring up a good point, I do wonder what they'll do with those things in the winter. I can't imagine they'll just be left exposed to the elements.

Anyway, I have no idea if/when the park will officially announce anything about TI, so I'm keeping my mouth shut till then. In the meantime, be sure to come visit me and my fellow marauders on the island this year! :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I've seen Dinosaurs Alive at several different venues. It can be set up and taken down fairly easily. I doubt that they would even consider exposing the pieces to a Sandusky Lake Erie winter.

I would suspect that at the end of a season given a bit of time they can move it all into storage, but to rush it out of the way in time to put a zone up and then try to recover the next season is where you'd hit the problems I suspect. with that many vulnerable pieces you've just got to take your time so you don't mess up your million dollars of electronics and moving dino parts when you put them away.

The name terror island would obviously be gone but why not just move the pirate theme to another location? They did it with CarnEvil a few years back. The whole "island" concept didnt even play much of a role outside of walking across the bridge.

they would keep the dinos running, and make us pay 5 dollars to walk through the fright zone lol

Where would they put it though? :p Could they fit another outdoor walkway in anywhere?

They could always remove the line queues from the middle of Mean streak I suppose...that would be an interesting spot for a new haunted house!
