What a Waste of Money (A dark ride would have been better)

Are there any parks around anymore that have that "charm" that KIand many other parks used to have? Many parks have gone to the "Pack inthe coasters" approach. (which is fine) The closest parks I canthink of are Holiday World or Dollywood. I haven't visited either ofthem though so I wouldn't know first hand.

Kennywood does a pretty good job of preserving its charm.

Knoebels is easily one of the most charming parks out there, although probably not in the same way as a major park like Kings Island.

Knoebels is amazing. If you've never been, go.

Not to turn this into Knoebels-buzz, but Knoebels has perhaps the most character out of any park I've ever visited. It feels like its from another time somehow in the best possible way.

CP seems sort of bipolar when it comes to "charm", in my opinion. While each new ride installation seems to go overboard in the amount of trees they remove, they've done an especially nice job - with Maverick and StR especially - adding new "charm".

I do agree with that sentiment, dj. And lately it seems like they've been trying harder. Throw Starlite Experience in there, and that's a good bit of new charm added to the place.

Cedar Point does install perfectly clean, consistent buildings and landscaping. They just do it with all the imagination and finesse of a display at Home Depot.

I guess the back of the park doesn't look/feel all that bad, but the front of the park is a concrete jungle. Probably the ugliest part of any park I have been in.
