Cedar Point is trying to appeal to everyone, particularly families at this point. That is why they built something somewhat family friendly.
I'm not one of the people still whining about the ride, but if this were so, why would Cedar Point announce during the 2010 season that they are building a ride for Thrill Seekers in 2011, if their intention was to please families?
I think Windseeker is going to be scary. I'm not good with heights when I'm that open.. but scary is not the same as thrilling! I will ride Windseeker at least once just to face my fear... but I don't see it as being thrilling enough to keep me riding often, but that's just me.

Most new rides at CP are marketed as "thrilling" because CP is a "thrill park". It's pretty difficult to successfully market a new ride by calling it not very exciting:
New for 2011 - A totally mediocre ride that is basically just for families, and isn't very exciting at all!
With the exception of kids' areas, the marketing of a ride doesn't necessarily hold true to the thrill level of the ride, nor should it.

I actually don't remember saying that at all to tell you the truth. When we have open minds and actually read what is being typed, it does wonders and actually makes more sense that way! If you can show me where I said Windseeker should be advertised as a mediocre family ride, then I'd be more than glad to admit I am wrong. Thanks ;)

So just be patient and you will get your 500footer looping wooden coaster.
Until then ride the 17 or so other coasters that CP has to offer, or try another park. Trust me, it's not the end of the world.
Because I didn't get the memo that family oriented rides are actually directed towards thrill seekers, (without the intentions of an argument) I quoted him and said:

I wonder where my comment saying, "2011's new ride should be advertised as mediocre and not thrilling", is at. Anybody?
