Welcome Wicked Twister

I don't like the name.
MDOmnis,

Not everyone is going to know what you are referring to when you say the train might be "drying".

<<It may be an issue of "you go *myah* and I go *nyah,* you *myah,* me *nyah* as the lines of DT and WT could initially be converged and then split as the group became closer to either of the coasters.  >>

Won't the line for WT be way longer than the DT line, at least at first? DT would be running empty while everyone is waiting to get to the split-point. Not a good idea.

I like it and think that a ride like it is necessary for Cedar Point, but it still feels disappointing because it is so...simple. Does that make sense? I am too used to the Millennium Force off-season methinks.

Sooner or later, the Point was going to have to put in a ride or two where people said, "oh, well that's nice" instead of "wow, that is friggin unbelieveable!"

My take:  It is a good ride in a great location.  It sure won't hurt Cedar Point.  I don't think it will significantly increase attendance figures but it will take some pressure off of other rides (MF, Raptor).

It is an additional style of coaster and gives CP a better representation of rides.  The only people who really care about who has more coasters won't stop going to parks if CP or MM fall behind so why does it matter?

Sit back, hold on tight (or don't for all I care) and enjoy the ride.

Cedar Point doesn't have a flying coaster yet. . .

"Hello, my name is *TIMMY!!*" [Ah LIBALOU LIBALOU TIMMAH!!!]
Laugh ye not too hard at my piddly stats. MF: 3; Magnum: 5; Raptor: 2 But the Iron Dragon is still my baby!
If understand that knowing is half the battle, but what's the other half, chicken
It will be a great addition to CP. Moreover anything that lessens the lines for MF and other rides has to be a great addition to the park.

Sigh... personally, I would have wanted something different that I haven't experienced before (specifically, I would've wanted a TA2K because i'm really interested in riding one.. oh well, guess that's what trips to Kings Dominion are for), BUT I definitely think this is a great move for the park.  It opens up the beach and draws people into the one area that was just dying for people and some TLC.  The location on this thing is absolutely gorgeous and it manages to blend in very nicely (judging from promo video).

So yeah, hello Mr. Twister.

I like the fact that CP is using all their land effectivly, and I hope that this will spread the crowds through the park.  I wonder if strong lake winds will effect the ride in anyway and speaking of lake winds, imagine how cold it is going to be in early May??? bbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr
DT is an interesting aspect in the considerations for next year.  Whoever said that much of the GP doesn't even know about it is right, I ask a lot of my friends that have been to CP multiple times even and they don't know a thing about DT.  So yes, WT will at least bring some new attention to DT.  And the line should get much longer, much like Mantis' line has, because hey, what's the first ride that people will do after WT?  Why DT of course, since it is right there.  It would be great if all this sparked CP to do something about DT as in maybe somehow increase capacity, revive old special effects (including queues), and maybe add new effects.  I just don't see two rides with such low capacity (compared to the rest of the park) as DT and WT withstanding all of the people that will flock to the "new" area.  Who knows though...

edit:  Yeah the lakefront location may make it cold with all the wind.  Plus, those spikes shake enough at SFWoA, imagine with the wind helping.  It'll be just like Vertigo :)  Of course they wouldn't really need to shut it down in heavy winds, since there's really no such thing as a "rollback" on Impulses, and that's the main reason why coasters like Raptor are shut down.  Am I right?

Will this take some lines away from MF? I sure hope so! It seemed like I walked onto Magnum like 5 times last year because of MF! Hopefully so!
Hey, I still don't understand whats with the 6 operator booths!??  Or was that false...
Sure it might makes the lines longer for DT, but what about the Schwabinchen?  She wouldn't mind actually having a line.  The only time she ever did was after the dive show.  I loved S:UE and I'm really looking forward to WT.  I'm gald there'll be a few more people on that midway.  It was always pretty dead.  There was a few nights in October I'd go almost 30 mins without seeing anyone when I was working the Schwab.

I always liked going back there because it was so quiet. You could always go back there and get CP's famous fries without a wait. I just liked to relax back there.

Even with the addition of WT, I will still enjoy going back there. I am sure looking forward to it!

I'm so happy...I had an idea in that big o thread where i said it would be cool to have it go backwards....like the new second spike of wicked twister...except people shot down my idea! But look what we have!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy my idea was partially right...i didn't figure 2 spikes though....all i have left is one owrd...SWEET
Do they make out the lines in the concept art? I see nothing, but i can just picture the line reaching from the ride all along the Midway like Superman did at SFMM when it opened... it was a mile long!!!

"There are some days when we don't let the line move at all- we call those workdays."
Yeah but i don't want DT's lines to get full... it takes forever 2 walk through even when it's empty!

I agree Wicked Twister, I'm gunna be so used to going to DT with short lines most the time. ah, well. I'm glad this new topic is staring, nice going:)

Proud to be the first 'MiLlEnNiUm' user on here!
Offseason sucks
MF: 24 , 7 counts in light snow:)
I've also been pondering over the 6 operator booths.  Anyone know why this ride needs so many?  How many does the one @ SFWA have?  But besides that, this ride looks sweet, can't wait till May!
-----------------
Sigh. :( Not really thrilled here...I mean, yeah it'll be fun, but lines will be out of sight at times (unless some guests look at it and go, oh, it's just a SUE) and the second twist is fun...but nothing I'm all that excited for. :( Crank up the height, duel it, or something and I might have been a bit more excited. We'll see...I wasn't thrilled when I heard about MF but it turned out to be incredible. :-/
