One of the few advantages of never being bored (and working around the clock) is that time flies. Opening day will be here tomorrow (but not before my April trip to Disney!)
I was bored as hell when I went to Disney World. The park is really great looking, but I'm more into rides, personally.

Umm Mr. Scott/Benjamin, maybe you should read the posts before you nag on others, it certainly sounds like when Ginger takes his winter trip to the area, he drives around the park:

I'm pretty sure you can get to Perimeter Road. And, how were you bored at Disney? I loved Disney. It's not a thrill-mecca but it's still a blast to go to. Have fun Walt, I'm headed to Florida next week over break to visit Grandparents. :( I'm still trying to get a Cypress Gardens visit out of it but it's not looking good.

Some people like the resort/entertainment atmosphere at Disney and Cedar Point. Other people like to go to Cedar Point and do nothing but run from one coaster to another, wanting to taer down the boring ones to replace them with 20-inversion models. Everyone has their own interests, I suppose.

Actually you are not allowed past the gates.I know,I tried in 2003, while returning from a family visit in Ohio,I thought it might be fun to see the park with snow on the rides etc.,but the guard informed us that only employees are allowed.Since its a fairly long drive from the tollway,we were quite disappointad. At least thanks to CP1984 I dont feel so stupid, so thank you.

See Walt I used to be one of them that rushed from coaster to coaster. Only going to CP once per year you really do have to run from coaster to coaster because you only do it once. This year, I convinced (or begged) for my parents to buy season passes so we can go a few more times a year. Maybe I'll ride the Midway Carosaul a few times and not hit TTD and MF every trip. ;)

Sorry I don't read every post of a 5 month old topic.
Walt,
Enjoy Disney! Hopefully, you have a week to spend there and hopefully you are staying on property.

You can't get past the toll booths in the off-season unless you're going to Bay Harbor. Don't even bother trying.

Is Bay Harbor the restaurant? and is it open year-around?

I went to Cedar Point on sunday and made it all the way to the parking lot by Kinzel's house. Here's what I did: Didn't bother taking the causeway cuz there is no way to get around the toll booths. Don't turn onto Cedar Point drive....go straight and pass Castaway Bay. Follow that road until you pass an abandoned drive in. Shortly after that on your left, there should be a road that takes you to the Chausee. Once on there, you will pass a long strip of houses, once you get to the end of the road, you wll be in front of the houses where Dick Kinzel's house is. The toll booth is boarded up so it is possible to drive into the parking lot. If I can do it, you can too!
And the thrill of driving around an empty parking lot is what?
Yes, the Bay Harbor is open year-round. If you must be on the peninsula in the off season, at least follow the rules and go to the Bay Harbor. You don't even need to buy dinner, you can just sit in the bar for awhile (they sell Pepsi for you under-age drinkers).
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
