Watching CP for a week

Just got back from spending a week at Marblehead where we had a great view of the back of CP from across the bay. It was fun sitting on the pier late at night watching the lights from a distance. On other evenings if it was quiet enough, I could hear TTD launch, and I heard the train whistle as it approached Mean Streak. I also got a fantastic view of that huge waterspout that was there last Sunday. Went to CP a few times during the week, but felt that Tuesday was extremely crowded.

Did you visit Marblehead Lighthouse? From what I read, it sounds like you did. You can get a GREAT view of Cedar Point from up there.
Yes, I visited the Marblehead lighthouse several times during the past week (both day & night). I have some fantastic photos of it too. I go there every summer and stay at a nearby cabin with excellent views of CP. I also drive by the lighthouse in January after we take our annual winter visit to Cedar Point. I hope to get some good winter photos of the lighthouse this year.

Winter visit to CP? It could be just me, but I don't get it. I'd love to have a house, across from CP so I could just sit on my porch and look at the great view whenever I wanted, that'd be heavenly great.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

When the ice piles up around the lighthouse, and the trees at CP are bare, Marblehead light is a really cool place to share an hour or so with someone special.

The ice seems to chill any thoughts of wishing the park was open though.

Are you able to upload some of those photos? Last time I visited Marblehead Lighthouse, I didn't have a camera, so I couldn't get any pictures of CP from there.

to Sean-s-eagle: I only live an hour and 10 min. from Sandusky, so every January or Feb. we stay at the Holiday Inn Holidome (on Rt. 250) for a long weekend. We stop by Cedar Point and drive around just for something to do. Then we drive to Marblehead and visit the lighthouse. We've beeen doing this for 14 years. Hey, winter is boring so it's fun to make an adventure!

to Huggy Bear: I don't have any way to upload photos, sorry.

Lol, buy a scanner...

Sure go ahead buy a scanner...Afterall money does grow on tree's...Sorry I couldn't resist. Those would be really cool pics to see. I was joking about the thing up there btw.
I need a new computer cuz this one's pretty old. I will buy a new scanner too. I'll send some photos then.

To DorkDork: We drive on the outer road around to the back of the park. If a security guard is there, he usually is real nice and lets us drive in after I give him a big smile and say "please". !!!

That's cool, I get it now. I'd love to just drive around the outside of the park, looking at it in the winter. Though, I'm not going to drive 2 and 1/2 hours just to do that. However, when Castaway Bay opens I might be convinced to do so.
