Heavy to really heavy.

Each track piece weighs 7,500 pounds.

so, sorry to hound the question, how much of that 7,500 lbs is sand?
and also, is that just an estimated weight, all the track pieces are different sizes, so I assume that they are not all the same.
I'm not sure, that's just what this article says. I'd assume that's after the sand.

Thanks , from what I read, is that it "hints" that there is only sand in the keyhole tracks .. but not the whole thing. I'm just super curious on the sound suppression.
As far as I could tell when I was at the plant, all of the track is quite filled with sand.

@Jeff
When you were at the plant were you able to tell if the box sections are welded, cut polygonal sections of plate or of they start out as strips and are bent on a brake and only the edges are welded?
Also, I saw a really old post on Coaster Buzz referencing a maintenance "pod" that B&M supplied with a few of their coasters. Unfortunately the image links were 404s, I was wondering if you had any more information about them or possibly photos?
Couldn't tell you. You'll see the first shot in the video shows bent plates, which I believe are for the tops and bottoms of the track spine. The sides appeared to be solid pieces, but I honestly didn't look that closely.
The only maintenance pod that I'm aware of was for Geauga Lake's Batman Knight Flight/Dominator, because half of it was built over water and likely difficult to get to with a cherry picker. I suspect it's not used now that the ride is solidly over land at Kings Dominion.

I don't know why it did that, but the video link works. If you google "B&M Rollercoaster Ball" it will take you to a TPR forum.

I wonder what the pricetag on that is? It seems like it would be a good thing to have for any coasters track inspection.. If it didn't take 2 hours to get around the circuit.
I don't think you can link to ***************.com here.
