Well shot and put together. Would LOVE to see more of this kind of stuff from either here or the official Cedar Point channels in the future.
It would be a great if an on ride shot was taken as you enter the first keyhole... Imagine the looks on faces.
Jeff, nice video. For the people who are surprised about them planning on 2014 & 2015 shouldn't be. You need to understand the planning aspect. When we were wiring Luminocity we had already placed our bid on Gatekeeper. We usually see the blueprint before the end of the operating season. Bids are typically due before the start of the year.
Ride-on
It's promising to hear that Luminocity is being produced in house this season. That has me wondering though, which of the parks shows have been outsourced. I know Rock Band Live and All Wheels Extreme are/were outsourced. Any others? The old dive show?
Richie A.
The dive shows were, as far as I know. I suppose technically the ice shows are outsourced since they are produced by Woodstock Ice Productions, although I don't know if any Peanuts ice shows exist outside of the Cedar Fair parks.

In-house means that this season's Luminosity will be produced by Cedar Point's own Live E department instead of RWS & Associates.

Oh yeah, I don't know how I overlooked the ice show. But now that's opened a whole other can of worms that I'm wondering about. With Woodstock Ice Productions being the producer of the ice shows, does that mean any other company besides Cedar Fair could hire them for a Peanuts themed ice show? Or would they need to hold a license too? Maybe Cedar Fair holds an exclusivity contract with them. Hmmmmmmm. I don't really expect answers to these questions, but they are now suddenly on my mind. :-)
During the video interview, Ouimet said that the show would be produced in house this year. What that means is that the folks from Cedar Point's Live Entertainment department will now be putting it together themselves. Last year's Luminosity came mostly from RWS and Associates (the same folks that provided Rock Band Live).

Ahhh, Rock Band live. Such fond memories of being the first group to perform that show the day it debuted. So sad it didn't really go anywhere after us. :(

That was a ridiculous fad.

And apparently it was one of the last straws between Kinzel and Jack Falfas.

^Details over said drama. We are in the offseason, need some gossip to keep me coming back while at work / school.

Apparently Kinzel and Falfas had a disagreement involving Rock Band LIVE. The links to the Sandusky Register don't seem to work anymore but the discussion covers most of the details.

It was cool to see all of the steps that they do to make these rides. I also love that the ride is being made in the US :3

After having just watched a video by WKYC in Cleveland of the same trip to Batavia, I wanna commend Jeff and anyone else who played a part in creating the Pointbuzz video. WKYC posted theirs yesterday, 18 days after Jeff posted here, and it is still one of the worst edited videos I've seen in a while, not to mention the terrible sound quality. Great job. :)

I was thinking the same thing! The only redeeming factor of the WKYC is the rendering but that doesn't make up for a lack of information and poor editing. Awesome job Jeff!!!

That is CRAZY COOL!!! Never realized how much precision work went into roller coaster track.

anyone have any shots of the sand being filled into the track?
I heard that this was to keep noise down, but I would like to understand the process a little more.
