Here's the video piece recorded at Clermont Steel Fabricators down in Batavia, Ohio. It includes portions of an interview with Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet, and VP of Planning and Design, Rob Decker.

Awesome video!!! I love the fact that they went back seven years and did the "gap analysis". Can't wait to see what the future brings!

That's an awesome video Jeff! It gets me excited that they already have 2014 and 2015 planned out.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

What an excellent segment.  I'm so excited to see what comes the companies way after watching this.  I love how Cast Member Matt (yes, I'm a Disneyland geek) says they've analyzed the "gaps" missing in the parks and how there are plans to address whats lacking.  It will be interesting to see how much it matches up with what I perceive the gaps are.

Anybody have an idea of what will be coming to the fountains at the former Paramount Parks?  What did the see at IAPPA?  Dancing fountains?  I hope so.

Also, kudos to the great editing.  Cutting from fabrication footage to interview kept things interesting.  Well done PointBuzz! Thanks sincerely.

I appreciated hearing some thoughts on Luminosity. It is very encouraging to hear that they are producing the show in-house this year and that it will help to tighten things up a bit. The show's impact was so positive on the vibe of the park at night it would be nice to have a stronger show at the center of it all.

The statement he made about Luminosity is promising. I love that an A isn't good enough, and that he wants an A+ done in house.

I have faith that they won't ruin the fountains. I'd be fine with different lighting at night, but please don't physically change them.

Let's Get Weird.

Ive heard from somwhere that their are fountain renovations coming to KI's International street fountains. Where is it mention. Oh and BTW im new to here :).

It's in the video. Watch and enjoy the 10 minute watch and relax.

Great video Jeff and keep up the good work

There is mention of the fountains renovations in the videos. Matt mentions it would start at Canada's Wonderland. I would like to see the KI fountain simly returned to it's more original programming where the fountains would change every minute. Not all fountains ran at any one time. I miss the vase fountains under the outer jets and the color lights from atop the tower at night. Simple beauty is the key in my opinion. Although it would be uber cool to have the bellagio effect to music and all, I personally think it would change the ambiance of International street.

Sorry for the mess. Signature under construction.

Great video, Jeff! I really liked the insight provided by Ouimet and Decker, not to mention the cool shots of the fabrication process. Nice job.

Great video. Did they tell you how the keyholes will be going up? Is the track coming first or are the towers coming first?

DejaVu2001's avatar

^ The towers have to go up first. The towers ARE the supports.

So they are going to have to "feed" the track through the keyholes? It seems like that would be VERY hard to do considering how heavy they are.

If they can engineer a ride like this, I think they could figure our how to do something (relatively simple) like this element. ;)

I'm sure it's easier than threading a needle, and no more difficult than mounting the pieces under the lift.

That is the least of their concerns

I am sure that the construction workers has a way to get the track in position through the keyhole towers. Those worker are skilled on what they do. Those keyhole towers are split in half to be able to ship them by trucks & to make it easier for the construction workers to install them & to mount the tracks to it. That should answer your question
