It still looks like there's an intended gap there. That transfer track section is very close to being aligned so there's no way it's simply moved over. There must be some kind of piece that fills the gap and holds the locking hardware to lock/unlock the track pieces together.

I too feel the same way. I'm not saying that there is a mathematical error, but more like a missing piece like you said.

Maybe that was one of the surprises that CP didn't tell us?! It was going to have a crash at the end of the ride like in Rollercoaster Tycoon!
I believe that section of the track will have this feature that Diamondback has on it. A portion of the track expands and contracts so that there is not a noticeable gap where the transfer section starts and ends.
