Valravn Goes Vertical--Construction Starts

My guess is they are going to do a lot of low installation parts first.

^ Thanks for the Info guys. I'm a busy guy and don't always see stuff right away.

Yes, we have action! I just wish my work PC wasnt a dinosaur so I could watch the video stream. At least I can see the still images.

I'm not sure what camera you are watching, but I haven't seen anything of the sort today.

Seems like it's always difficult to see what's going on before noon with the angle of the sun.

The glare from the sun was pretty bright, but I thought I saw a blue support beam being lifted. My apologies.

It appears that they are building a temporary "road" platform for the crane to move into the site.

Am I the only one seeing a blurry/unfocused web cam? Especially towards the bottom?

Seems to happen when it's a tad darker (early morning and later in evening).

its a good thing Im not operating that enormous crane because I wouldve probably already knocked something major down. Sure wish I could get the video feed here at work.

They removed a number of trees today.

I thought the site looked a bit more barren. Any idea why they are focusing on the lift pieces and not placing the first set of lift supports?

Looking at the webcam, it almost looks like they have connected two sections of the lift hill on the ground. If this is the case, I'm very surprised by this because of the increased difficulty in lifting and positioning a significantly larger piece. Not to mention the angle at which the lift hill track needs to be installed at.

Good Grief!

My guess is that the first section alone can't reach the first lift hill support and they didnt intend on leaving a section hanging while another crane assembles/erects the first support. And since it appears that they will be lifting 2 pieces together as one, I think it's safe to say that the crane can handle it. :)

Does anyone know or at least have an idea of what time they stop working for the day? What are their work hours?

1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

It appears most cars leave between 330 & 430 with a few people around after that.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Gatekeeper's lift was assembled 2 pieces at a time. Besides Adam's observation of doing it this way because of support placement, it also just makes sense to use the crane in the most efficient way possible...the fewer lifts it has to make, the better. I don't think there is any need to worry, this isn't Adena's first rodeo....
