Recently, my parents announced that I would be going on a cruise with them for a week or two and I just discovered an email from food management in my inbox (relatively big surprise given that I was about to give up here). Do you guys know if Cedar Point is okay with a vacation or if that is a no go? My parents have already locked me into the cruise, so any help is appreciated! (The person I heard from was Jenna Stierhoff)
I can't say for sure with foods how it works but I imagine it is similar to Rides. In Rides, you just let your manager know during the interview process if you will need any time off. If it is during the main season when staffing is not as much of an issue, they will do their best to give you the time.

Pushing back your process in date is not a good idea, unless that's exactly when the cruise is. I'm also in rides, so I don't know for sure about foods. But my best advice is to tell the manager who interviews you that your family has vacation plans, and know the exact days you'll need off.

My vacation is June 25-July 4. I actually can backout if needed.
@ 12vaughn34 Awesome to hear that! As they say, "The ball is in my court" since I only received an email about an interview. I just hope food service is not needed for the extended season (halloweekends or whatever it is called at cedar point). That was sort of my falling out during ride op interviews. I guess food crew is a bit easier to train and replace, so I have better hopes. Probably will short order, bus, or dishwash. I hope I get to do something!
I've requested various things at both Breakers and Sandcastle Suites (location, etc.) and while not guaranteed, they have always been very accommodating.
I discovered I would be working a food stand (dippin dots, churros (yum)) if I get a job there. I made it to a skype interview, going to happen this upcoming monday at 2:30. Any advice for the skype interview? (I won't worry about the internet unless mom and dad change us back to dsl :( )
back when i worked in foods a few years ago, i would request certain days off, but i never went on vacation. if i knew i had something coming up or if people were coming to visit, id take the day off. my first year, my brother was graduating so i took a weekend off for his open house. i already knew about that in advance so i wrote it on my application then i had to request it off in person.

Just got done with interview, not certain how it will all end out, but she said I will hear back by the end of the week. I hope to work at Cedar Point this summer!
I still have not heard anything about if I got the job. If I did, I would process in around May 1st. Did you get the offer through email, phone, skype call, or skype message?
I did not get a job offer yet but Jenna Stierhoff sent my name to Sharon Allison to discuss an opportunity!!!!! I am assuming Mrs. Allison is one of the subsidiaries since she said she said should I be offered a job it would likely be in her area. Any idea of where that is exactly? Thanks!!
EDIT: I am still waiting for a call back from her. I left her 3 voice messages including my available times, and I understand that there are a lot of people to go through, but I have gotten no replies or emails back. I am not sure what to do at this point... Any advice?
