Hi, I recently applied for Cedar Point and just got a email back concerning a interview phone call.
I have a call with Shaun Hill, does anyone know what kind of questions i will be asked and how it will go? Also im aware there is skype interviews afterwords, what kind of questions will be asked for that as well? The position im being interviewed for is ride operations, ive read up on it but could you give me detail of what i would be doing? thank you!
I'd say be prepared with these tips and points:
Look nice. Pretty hair and conservative makeup.
Express a willingness and eagerness to work with the public, and how well you get along with others.
Promote yourself as having the best work ethic possible. Promptness, willing to work overtime, flexibility in assignment, etc.
Smile, even when you're on the phone. (it works!) Use correct grammar and speak slowly and clearly. Be serious, but affable at the same time. When you're on Skype look right at them.
Express a love of working outdoors, even in all kinds of weather.
Say something nice about the park and how much you love it there.
Have a list to refer to of any previous experience you have that would make you right for this job. (store clerk, babysitting, leadership at school, things like that)
You wont need to rattle these things off all at once, just keep these talking points in mind during the interview. A good interviewer will ask questions to lead you to talk about yourself, and will be looking for some or all of those attributes. There may be specific job-related questions but usually an interviewer doesn't spend a lot of time there. He or she is looking for total package and will place and train you according to how they see you fitting in there.
Don't worry, and try not to be nervous. (Or try not to let it show!)
Good luck.
RCMAC put it perfectly. I was very nervous for my Skype interview back in January, but it was pretty clear early on that this wouldn't be a stressful interview at all. In the end, I'd say it was the most laid-back interview I've had. Good luck!

RCMAC hit the nail on the head for interview preparedness.
When doing the Skype interview the room behind you can be seen. I would suggest having a plain background behind you and no TV or radio playing.
Additionally you may be offered an opportunity to ask questions. Have some relevant question for the position you are interviewed for ( extra hours, are the off days fixed or rotating, etc.).
At the end of the interview thank the person for taking their time to interview you.
Good luck on your interview.
