I see where you are coming from halltd, but I going to agree with djDaemon on this one.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
It could very likely be used as a station. The already have a queue line (WWL's).
Lara Croft - The Ultimate Tomb Raider!
"Wind it up!!"
It probably won't happen... but the fly through idea ppl are talking about sounds nifty...
I'll just combine two ideas here and say if they do a fly through then it'd be sweet as hell if they did that LIM launch during the ride other ppl are talk'n about..
Mass renovations of WWL station would need to happen, but with the turn table taken out they have room to hide and sqeeze that electric shed in..
It's not that I'm afraid to die; I just don't want to be there when it happens
Like all of you guys, I don't know for SURE why its still there, but I can make educated guesses just like everyone else. My logic for them taking out the turntable is that there was a bunch of motors and gears and other items UNDER the turntable that need to be disposed of differntly than the building itself. Lumber and concrete can be disposed of in the same landfill. Since they were already disposing of the pumps and other machinery for the ride, I'm thinking that's why the turntable came out.
Honestly, I see where you guys are coming from. But, the same way taking out the turntable but not demolishing the building makes sense to you guys, leaving the concrete footings and ride track make no sense to me. Like you said, why take out the turntable, but leave the footings and ride track? They were demo'ing, so why not keep going?
I think they're going to come in later and just plow the whole thing over and then keep going with their footings in the off-season. Remember when everyone thought they were keeping the existing "river" because they left the concrete bottom of it in place and didn't just demo it with the rest of the ride? Same thing with the random leftover footings from the ride? Guess what? They came back later and tore all of that out to put in that huge footing they're pouring now. Its all about a construction schedule and phasing.
Well, they could rather simply and inexpensively remove the station and build a newer, better version to more aptly fit the "theming" of the ride. If its continuing with the western theme, then they could just distress it to make it look older, but it would have increased integrity from having just been built. After all, why would they reuse parts of old coasters for new ones? They couldn't possibly be that restricted monetarily, could they?
The motor removal I can understand, and the scheduling.
They probably want to provide something to see, seeing as how they left the station, and the path by the railroad tracks uncovered. On the inside of the park, they could've fenced it to keep all the dust and such from spreading throughout, as that could cause problems.
Although this is all just speculation, creative thinking requires usage of brains and therefore is a good thing.
Okay. Here's a nutball idea:
A fly-though INSIDE a gift shop!. Make that an INVERTED fly-through. All you'd have to do to make it a shop is enclose part of it, and add the needed storage space, like under the former stairs that took you to the platform.

Fly-through shopping. Kinda like a drive-thru, or a carryout. You'd have to be quick though. I like it.

I have to imagine that it's not going to be on its way out because T&T (http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm?entry=3a4a6845-84ec-4388-a724-d442cce44ade) mention how it's still there. Why draw attention to the fact that it's still around just to demolish it next season.
I ain't saying it's gonna, I'm just saying that its weird.
However, they are paid marketing tools, correct? Thus they get paid to mess with peoples minds to get them to pay attention to the park? Just theories, no one really knows for sure, but it is suspicious that they left it up. I, for one, would have just taken a wrecking ball and drove it right through the thing if planning on removing it. But, hey, weird PR is PR, no?
If the station stays, its NOT because Tony and Tyler said it was going to. If you remember correctly, they showed us some bogus landscape drawings on a trash can and said they were the plans for Skyhawk. Then they came back later and said it was just some piece of paper they made up. So, I wouldn't give any credibility to them calling attention to the station still being there.
If the building were torn down, where would Gee. WILLIAMS (Dealer in leather goods) sell his wares? I'd have to give it to the ride designers if they did use the building as a part of the ride. If it is used, I could see it much more likely to be part of the queue line and/or exit photos.
Beware the Kraken
I doubt they're going to tease us this year with little sketches like that like they did for Skyhawk. Last year everyone thought, "We're getting a new coaster in that area". I agree with people that say this building will be used again for possibly a queue line. Although, I was thinking they could turn it into a bigger arcade for Frontiertown. The one they have isn't quite as big as the main arcade and they would have plenty of space for that.
This is my first post ever and its gunna sound crazy but I think we may see a new Log Flume. They have all winter to throw a curve ball at us and put "two and two together'. (Rollercoaster and Flume)
I'd rather have the Log Flume and RollerCoaster all in one to make a gigantic ride... oh yeah, that's what an Aquatrax is...

I thought honda made aquatrax?
http://powersports.honda.com/watercraft/
But an aquatrax is NOT a combo coaster/flume. They are more like Sheikra at BGA. The tracks never actually touch water but the fins on the side of the car skim the water to make a splash.

The ride that intamin makes that is a combo coaster/flume is called the "super splash". In the link above click on the super splash and the aquatrax to see what I am talking about because I doubt I made any sense due to lack of sleep.

I always find it ironic that the very first steel coaster also had a REAL splashdown. I wonder why that didn't catch on?
COULD IT BE USED FOR THE PLACE WHERE YOU GET OFF THE RIDE?
