Coat check?
Nah, I'm with John. Although, it would make a great (aesthetically speaking) on-ride photo booth.

I think that a fly thru would be awesome. Thats what I think that its going to be used for.

Interesting. A set of progressively lower supports, in a straight line....and its not a launch. Is that even possible?

Aren't they pouring what look like station footers right near the WWL building? It could be the station/queue building. Wasn't this discussed somewhere else?

I'm going to Dollywood next year. If you go then I suggest you go on or after Firday the 13th (April 13) for the opening of the Mystery Mine. I'm going sometime after then on a Wednesday.
1) Maverick 2) Millennium Force 3) Top Thrill Dragster
I say the station of WWL is going to be demolished at the end of this season. That's my best educated guess because they've done NO work inside of it yet - not even removal of the old ride "track". I think they only left it to keep the area looking "acceptable" for park guests.
Halltd,
I disagree. I think they'll use it in 2007. Perhaps not even with the new coaster, but a new shop or eatery. They haven't done any demo on old track yet, but I don't think they've shown us the whole site yet either. I still think that P2007 will fully cross (or at least go above) some of the adjacent midways and could just as easily fly through the old WWL station.
Also, I don't see them halting a demolition and keeping the building there for a year just to keep things acceptable. I think that most guests that see that giant construction site don't say
"Wow, that's gross! Look at that terrible, barren wastland of construction - Oh, wait. There's a weird, wooden building with no walls over there to the side... it's OK."
I exaggerate, but I just don't see it.
Actually, all that is left in the WWL station are the footers that the rotating platform used to rest upon, as well as the concrete flume. But things like that can be quickly and easily removed.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Well, as a former Imagineer, I must say that the guest experience is VERY important to a park. Parks will make a strong effort to maintain some sense of normalcy during the operating season - ESPECIALLY at a seasonal park. Year-round parks like Disney don't have a choice but to build while guests are in the park. But, CP does have a choice. I also don't see the station being used as a shop or eatery because there's just too much alteration required to make it function. They're looking to keep the cost of development down I'm sure. So, that building would be cheaper torn down if they planned on using it for a eatery.

Thunderhead and The Mountain Slidewinder.
Piece of advice. I live near Dollywood and have been many many times. Don't go into it expecting thrills and chills. My boyfriend did that was terribly disappointed, and now he claims he hates Dollywood. The rides they have aren't really thrilling, but they are fun. It's more of a family park, but I'm sure you already know that. Just a warning to keep someone from not liking a wonderful park.
I am going to have to disagree with you on the guest pleasing aspect, halltd. You worked for Disney, Disney wants their guests to have a magical time in their parks, so constuction would be anything but magical (to a little kid). On the other hand CP is for ammusment purposses only, I don't think their trying to make sure all the scenery is pleasing to the guests, if they were not using the WWL station they would have torn it down, there would have been no use in keeping it.

If CP was only for amusement, they wouldn't put so much effort into landscaping and making sure the park was clean. They wouldn't have even put up that wall around the site. They already had the fence, they didn't NEED the wall too. But, it helps shield that huge dirt field from sight. I'll give you the fact that they don't care AS much as Disney, hence the wall not surrounding the entire site. But, they care enough to try. I'm guessing that they have more demolision to do in the off season of some midway sections so they just saved the station until then.
I'm really having a hard time understanding that logic, halltd.
If they are going to demolish the station, why on Earth would they carefully remove the turntable? They didn't sell it to anyone, and it was simply thrown away, meaning it had no value. So, that would imply that the station itself has value. It would make absolutely NO sense to spend the extra money to remove that, when they could have simply left it until the rest of the station were torn down.

Walls and Fences are to keep people out and safe from the contruction traffic. By code, they are required to have some type of fencing to keep people out. I'm actually surprised that the RR track that goes around the site doens't have some type of fencing, they just have rope strung through concrete footers.
As for the station, I'm seeing it being used, in what fashion, we can only speculate on that, but a queue for the ride, yes, shops, maybe, but I'm pretty certain that a concession stand it will not be.
