It will more then likely break a record if you ask me. No it will not be tallest in the world, No it will not be the fastest in the world, but it will probably be either the tallest, fastest, or most inversions of its kind. When has a CP coaster not broken a record in the last decade or two?
I know it is off the subject, kinda...but did anybody hear what actually happened at Kings Island(regarding SOB) being that it is now a Cedar Fair park. Last I heard some people were hurt...break in the wood structure or what?
According to this article the ride does splash you however these type of online news pieces never really get the details straight. Oh and people tend to die on this ride as well... =-0

Here's what I'm thinking, and keep in mind this is only speculation:
"Whole new direction" : A new ride type or a less sought-after record
"Blaze the trail": It will be very fast
"Serious sidewindin'": Very twisted layout
"Hold on to your spurs": There will be a launch
"Let out a big YEE HAW": There will be heavy airtime
"A change is a-comin": More rides will be affected (1, maybe 2)
Not to be confused with Twisted Wicker 08 from 2002
Back to the pool on vertical construction i say July 17th
I think that the ride will just be absolutley amazing, what ride isn't at Cedar Point, with the exception of Mean Streak, because the first time i rode it it was.

No it means its going backwords.
Man, I am starting to sound like Mr.Scott and his water idea.
Let's Get Weird.
Twister - I am with you on all parts except: "Hold on to your spurs", makes me think of the Intamin prototype since you literally could. I totally agree the direction could be a less sought after record: maybe worlds longest? Other than that I am with ya - airtime, launched, fast, and twisted (obviously).
Okay. How this for a theory: It might pass throgh Mean Streak, ala Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood, with a flythrough like Thunderhead, AND it will dip inside the Antique cars. Plus you'll be able to drop waterbombs on people in line, like Roller Soaker at Hershy.
How's that for a wacked out idea?

Coasterfury & Gmoney,
I'm just at work looking at the threads and pictures because I'm just as intrigued as you guys are about how fast they're building this coaster & why. And I did state "In My opinion" in the beginning of that post. By the way, Gmoney- I'm 30! I'm old enough to know the difference between an opinion & stating facts. No harm done!

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
Once again, they are placed over the tops of the threaded stock. They don't go anywhere, they aren't filled with anything, and they won't be.
Their only purpose is for marking where the footers are.
I think you are wrong (TommyTom, not exit). As stated before they are placed on the footers so that the driver of the front-end loader can see where they are and make sure he doesn't hit any. There are over 40 of the poles because there are over 40 of the footers.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Ok guys im not trying to be a smart ass but we will see.I think its sillyto have all those poles .Dont you think those drivers wentto school so they know how to avoid those footers.

When you're driving a front end loader around, you can't always see what's on the ground in front of you because you have a giant load of stuff hanging off the front of what you are driving. It's the same principle as having a bright yellow pole sticking up behind a parking space, so you don't back into the concrete block it's attached to.
Schooling or not, I assure you, those are there for the safety of the workers and the equipment, not for water or wiring.
Exit hit the nail on the head. The bucket of a loader blocks virtually everything within 20 feet in front of you, unless its 10 feet tall.
