i don't see a mountain happening. there would be WAY more footings out there to support the structure of the enclosure. all the footings out there now are definitely in a track layout, not in an enclosure. they're not going to come back later and dig for building foundations either. so, no mountain. and, there's NO possible way you can tell from the track and supports that its an aquatrax. that stuff is all added to the ride afterwards. so, keep dreaming people.
Support structure for theming can be built right into the exisiting footers and supports. Maybe that's why we are seeing some wierd looking support pieces. Things that make you go hmm....
One other thing, there will be no under ground tunnels. From the last set of construction pictures, you can clearly see that they are making the ground completely flat and there has been no work or construction on digging or building support walls for a tunnel. CP wouldn't fill in the work area and then come back just to dig it back up for a tunnel.
IMO, what ever type of coaster CP puts in, it will surely be a great ride and lots of fun for repeat rides and visits.
CP should put a count down clock for the day they plan to announce the ride, like how they do the count down for opening day!!
Wasn't sure where to post this so I am going to post in this topic. Is there a banner on Mean Streak? If so, what does it say? You can see what I am talking about by going to funcoast cam.
From what I've been told, it's a banner regarding Mean Streak's Top 10 wooden coaster ranking from the Theme Parks Magazine poll.
There is not necessarily a clear distinction on which footers would support track and which would support some type of themed structure. I think there are some smaller footers with only four bolts, these very well could be for something other than track.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Coasterfury,
Who needs specific proof? Everything on here is speculation. MY OPINION is just that it's not going to be anything extravagant. I BELIEVE that it's just going to be a really nice coaster...which it should be. I'm going by what I see on the pictures- laying on the ground outside of Breakers Express, spread out across the construction site & the similarities between those pre-construction pieces and 2 other roller coasters that are already there (Millennium Force & Magnum). I'm just being practical about it. Simple as that.

I was just pointing out that you said Aquatrax, multi-looper and 500 footer isn't going to happen. You don't know this any more than anyone else. What should have been said is that you THINK it's not going to be any of the above. It's not speculation when you say it isn't going to happen.
What I THINK this new coaster will be is an aquatrax. Not saying it will, just what I think. I respect your opinion, just state it that way instead of as fact.
How do you know he doesn't know?
You don't know how much he does or doesn't know. You can only assume, and you know what the say about assuming.
Does Atlantis Adventure splash down into water some what like WWL did or SRF? I didn't see any pics of this on RCDB.
The only thing that makes me think this isn't an aquatrax is that there doesn't appear (yet) to be anywhere this would happen. The footers in the swan pond look to be for a typical turn around.
Im still waiting to see what they do here http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4165.

How's that old saying go?
Those who know, don't tell.

Holy Hell! LOL
You'll have to excuse me; I'm at work and I just get on here to waste time when I'm getting sleepy or just simply bored. I apologize for not taking this forum as seriously as you all do! LOL
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
I think that were all kidding. Well most of us are. there are a couple that think that their life depends on roller coasters, but I was playing. Leslie, was only joking about my comment.
Plus I dont even know if your over 18 ;)
I love Monkeys! I love Monkeys!
I was really just bored myself. I guess it kinda irks me when it seems that someone is saying something as factual when virtually no one knows. Sorry if you thought I was angry or upset. Not the case at all.
I have not been to CP yet this year but do have plans. I have been watching the threads and some people have a good idea on what is being built. I thought I would give my opinion.
1. MS will not come down. Like stated before on this thread...why eliminate a coaster?
2. "Going in a whole new direction" New construction will probably start in Oct. in the big useless que line of the MS
3. 20 coasters by 2010...refer back to number 3. If there is any room for more coasters (from what I have seen in the park) it is in Frontier Land.
4. Aquatrax...interesting concept especially after removing WWL
5. record breaker...I don't think so. It's CP!!! something unique and exciting...yes!!
remember this is just my opinion...I only average 1-2 trips to CP a year.
I would like to clarify #5 before I insult some CP fans. I didn't mean to state that CP does not do record breakers...just not in 2007.
I'd still like to see this announcement where the park said they'd like to have 20 coasters by 2010... :)
2007: Millennium Force, 2008: Millennium Force ATL, 2009: Top Thrill Dragster
