Thanks Walt!
And my take on the WWL station--- i think it still may be used for part of the queue line. I also think the station will be right where all the footers of the rectangular area will be.
As far as i can see from the arials and the project progress this far... I think it's still anyone's guess as to what this ride WILL be and what it WILL do. The only time we will know is when they announce it and there actual drawings published.
Looking at the Staging Area Arials, there is still ALOT more track and footers to be delivered., and i really don't think that this monster will be conatined to the area which we have seen.
Tim
well i don't know about it expanding outside of where it is right now because if you look at the footers none of them lead to a part that is taken by an existing ride and even with it still being august, what about any themeing and all the electrical and possible water work that would still have to be done during the offseason as well as constructing the station and etc...
Thanks for the pics Walt.
I do have a question though, has anyone noticed the little square footers scattered about in different places? They look like they only have four lag bolts sticking out of them.I don't really think they are for track support's but then again I don't have a clue.
Over by the railroad,is that some type of footers or is that something else?Like I said I don't have a clue.
Awesome Pictures!!
Wow there is a lot less stuff there then I thought there was. I guess all of the multiple pictures of the site made me think it had a lot more supports and track. Those aerial shots really put things into perspective!

Actually looks like this support is what goes on the 4 bolt footers... ;) http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4660
Or am I looking at this support wrong? and this is actually a support for the track?
But I could also see where the square footers are for the station... *** Edited 8/6/2006 6:40:30 AM UTC by Aaron_toledo***
Well I guess I still don't have a clue.I hadn't even noticed that support,it does look like the same bolt pattern and size.

I actually think the White Water Landing station might be staying there because they may be doing something inside to it, so that is where you can get on the new ride. Inside the station while waiting there are memories from White Water Landing, and pictures and stuff. I don't know thought that might be a little intresting. I mihg tbe imagining too much.

Thanks for the great pictures!
I'm looking for two things to give away the height of this coaster. Most Intamin Coaster above 200-220 feet with a lift hill (hightest point) have a greater support structure other than the large steel columns. Most Accelerator coasters with the highest point being a top hat have box track (at least for that element). I don't see either of these on site, so my current thinking is that the height of this thing will be less then 200 feet.
Also, the proximity of the WWL station to what looks like the loading/unloading station keeps me thinking that this will be the cue/photo/merch building.
Beware the Kraken
Also something fun to think about. Most accelerator rides have the mechanical building under the track, while LIM coasters have an electrical room off to the side of the track. I'm not sure I see any footers leading up to the pit in the ground, but it does look off to the side and very similar is size to the WT electrical support building. Given that clue and the type of track that matches the WT LIM sections, I'm convinced this is an LIM (or very similar) coaster. (Thanks Aaron_Toledo & Matthew86 from prior post on the track). Unless the electric cables run for some distance, I'd also guess this launch to be close to what looks like the ride station, and at the beginning of the ride.

Beware the Kraken
It's $50 per fight, Ben.
walt, is that a special price that you receive. That is a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. If it is that cheap for the GP than I might consider doing that.
It's $50 for a 20 minute flight. That's Griffing's standard price for that flight. Cheap or not, $50 a shot adds up. :)
Your right that does add up, and you have been doing a great job with the updates. These terminals in donut time are ssssllloooowww!!! I should have just posted this from my phone, it would have been quicker!!!!!!!!!! LOL+
Those square supports seem like they go to those footers.
Peace, Mikey
My bet is that they connect to the Flat Type of track.

I know we said that this area was a possibility for the station, but with those other supports around it and from looking at the aerials, it looks as if it would be a small station especially looking at CP's two recent complete circuit roller coasters. They both have double stations making them longer. I suppose it could be a side by side station but i don't know.
I like the idea of having all those wide supports in that area with a large concrete base to mean that the track will shoot sky ward :) but that's just me
