First triangle pieces? If you're referring to where the 2-rail ends, then you're on your own, buddy. I would assume that it is standard track, and that the strange piece will hold some trims and there will be LIM's immediately following that. Because the track you're asking about appears to be standard triangular track, there's really no way of knowing what it looks like from above, until we get some better pictures.

Launch track doesn´t have to be boxed.
EDIT: wasn´t fast enough ;) BTW, California Screamin´ is not LIM launched. It´s LSM launched.

That appears to be the piece of track installed on-site. Doesn't look to have LIM attachment plates on top either.
Jugga,
Linear Gale, which I believe is the first Impulse coaster, has triangle track. It also lacks any "twisting" on the spikes.

Howerver if you would look at the very next picture in the set, you can clearly see that the other end of that piece does in fact have lim mounting plates on it.

Mechanical Engineer: Dont mess with us, we design your coasters.
DJ, maybe I can help you out with a lil calculus. As the limit of X (likelihood of exiting current project area) approaches infinity you just call it ZERO. Everyone comes up with this wild and crazy ideas and they are knocked down with ease by a poster and their counterargument turns into "well ok, but theres still a chance!!" Anyways great update and I'm definately in the WTF group.
Thanks for the shout out Steve
Hm... I was just looking through Point Pixels update from the 26th at the staging area, and noticed something that no one's really talked about, the LIM lift hill sitting there, but more importantly the numbers on the pieces of track for the hill.
As seen here, http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=8083, that piece of track on the right, labeled S-13, I'm 99% certain is for the apex of the launch hill (also probably indicated by the other scribbles on the piece). Now, if we know that each piece of track is approximately 30 feet long and there will be 13 pieces in the launch and hill, then that adds up to 390 feet of track. Subtract 2-4 pieces of track for the initial launch and bottom of the hill, and this hill could reach well over 200 feet tall. Notice, the piece next to that one in the picture is labeled 07, somewhere in the middle of the hill. To confirm my theory, I looked at other pieces to find ones that were marked 01-11 to see if they matched at all.
This picture, http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=8069, on the far left is 12, then next to that 06, then another launch piece (for the mid course launch, this piece has already been installed), then next to that is 09. 12, 06, and 09 all fit the criteria, they all have the "swiss cheese" track for LIM/LSM mountings and they also have the pieces for where the steps will be attatched. Also, here is piece 11, http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=8057, which also fits the criteria. Looks like this coaster could get a lot higher than most people expected, but I highly doubt that it'll be over 300 feet, probably around 250-60 at the highest.
This shot shows another view of pieces 12 and 06: http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=8055.
Also, just since no one else has mentioned it, the transfer track for holding trains (not the track for switching to be launched if there is any) has arrived: http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=8065.
Well, that's just my observations, I'm surprised that no one else noticed it earlier.
EDIT: Found 03 as well: http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=7510. It also fits.
EDIT 2: 04 with another view of 03: http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=7502
