2 parallel straightaways that might be launch track(s)?
No that is for the station. Their will be a beam that goes across the two supports and connect them.

101 on Magnum and counting...
I'd say a Wingwalker is definitely out as the transitions are too quick for its very wide trains.
Looks great so far, the transistions don't look rough to me at all cos of the heartline. The should call this coaster 'Skiing: The Ride:' ;)
I guess the layout is where 'sidewinding' come from.

It looks as if this piece of track may support that theory, if that is is a launch looking piece?http://www.pointbuzz.com/gallery/4984.jpg
Seriously, that dream I had where the cars "drifted" doesn't look that far from impossible right now...

i have stuck to my much-despised 525 ft theorem.
I think you may be a little dissapointed when they announce this ride.
I still don't understand why people still think it will be a launch coaster like Rita or any launch coaster. How would that be taking a new direction? I'm not ruling out a launch coaster, but it will be something more than your average coaster.. I mean, when is the last time Cedar Point built a coaster that didn't break some sort of record.. not counting Woodstock Express... lol.. its been awhile..

I had this dream last night that common sense prevailed in online communities. Sadly, that dream is looking less and less possible every day.

I think a lot of people are going to be disapointed when the ride is announced and it lacks the following:
Drifting, Spinning, Heights of 500 ft, Wing walker cars, X cars, or water.
Zero, why do people think this ride will launch? Because it will launch, want proof?
Look at this pic of wicked twister, see that piece of track, those things are the LIMs. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=1277
Now note, a piece of track for p2k7 that is identical right down to the mounting holes for the LIMs http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4920
How would a launch be taking things in a new direction? My question is how would a lift be taking things in a new direction? Maybee that sign means nothing more than the ride will be traveling south, southeast, maybee they dont have a ride that travels that exact way yet!

I think i'm starting to agree.. I think Cedar Point has given us such a huge bang with their coasters over the past .. what 10 years? and right now, this one just isnt looking so .. bangfull..
but then again.. they could very well pull something out of their 10 gallon hat and supprise the spurs off us! ya never know!
looking forward to the announcment!
Thanks for all the updates guys!
Greg
This coaster definitely looks twisted, thats for sure. I had to chuckle at your comment, Greg...about the 10 gallon hat and spurs...kinda reminds me of all the signs posted around the construction site...
I just think that CP's whole new direction means no record breakers with this one..thats what they've been trying to go for with some of the recent coasters, so maybe this one is just all about fun, and not really being the tallest, fastest, etc...

[url][url]I don't think the parallel supports are for the station.

There is a lot of supports and other things under milly's station. The track in the middle of the parallel supports on P2007 looks like it will hold track for either braking or launch. I dont think you could have track going under the station because of all the supports that are needed under the station.
Also, under TTD's station there are a lot of supports like this: http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4983[url][url]
I think this is for the station which will be put up in the back corner near Thunder Canyon.

I wouldn't call it a "hut". They're putting up walls on top of the concrete block foundation that was previously built.
Is the webcam "play by play" really necesary? People who want to watch it are doing so.
