Update: August 17

I think it would be cool if the "whole new direction" meant a flying coaster that went underground. They could bring back all the animals from Sea World in Aurora and make aquariums so as you went past you could see them like you were underwater.

This is a great update. They are putting that track up quicker than I would have thought. I agree that this is most likely the return section of the ride, but I still don't think much height will be involved. I was also guessing a speed through those turns at about 40 mph.

I've been looking on this website for a couple of years, but never had time to post until now.

Anyway, to continue the heartline discussion a little more, those transitions remind me of going skiing. Those who have gone skiing before or have at least seen someone go down a hill will remember how it is to go through gates while doing a slalom course. Your legs move back and forth, left and right, while your upper body basically stays in a straight path. These pieces of track remind me of that in a way.

The transitions are quite impressive, and yes e x i t I do have a red mark on my forhead after michigan232s' statement.

The purpose of this intense looking transition is going to be like a moment of weightlessness. Kinda like what Mantis does.

The only moment of weightlessness people will experience is when they hang up those McDonalds super-sized value meals. Eat fresh!

im pretty sure that you are weightless at the top of a bunny hill (mantis's transition is a bunny hill).

that little dip will do very little for airtime, although, if moving fast enough, that tiny drop as you enter the transition may be enough for some butterflies.

well, thats a given. we just wanna know on what level of awesomeness this will reside.

not to mention that people have different preferences. some like coasters for their height and speed (myself included) millennium is an excellent example as well as ttd.

while others prefer loopers like raptor. with my theory it will accomodate both types of rider, which is another reason why i have stuck to my much-despised 525 ft theorem.

^A 525 foot coaster would be so fast that the elements would have to be HUGE. I don't see any room for a 250 foot vertical loop or a cobra roll the size of MF's first hill in there, nor anything to suggest a maximum height of even half of what you think it will be.

I'm also starting to doubt the Aquatrax, at least based on what track's gone up so far. Atlantis Adventure isn't very tall but it does have som significant elevation changes. This is starting to look to me like a LIM-launched, longer version of Rita. If that's the case, I would be quite pleased.

Rita does look pretty sweet, although the verdict is still out on the OTSR. I just want another fun coaster, and I am sure they can find a record it will break (most non-inverted overbanked turns?)
