Or low to the water. :)

"big e"

Sorry, I was at a hotel computer and it must of not worked right. I meant to say big cranes to raise higer support peices and track peices.

oh ok that makes more sense!

I thought maybe that was your pet name for the crane or somethin' ;)

Ride on, MrScott!

I said a long while ago that it was going to be very similar to Goliath because the incoming beams (even the strange-looking ones) look very similar, or exact, to Goliath's.

I'd say more similar to Rita: Queen of Speed meets California Screamin'.

But aren't the beams more similar to Goliath's?

What beams?

If you're talking about the supports, you can't judge by that because they all look similar to Millennium Force's too. Intamin's supports pretty much all look the same.

That being said, Goliath's got ground-hugging turns, and so does Rita.

Did you read that post where the guy said that he spoke to Monty Jasper- who told him why they're keeping everything under wraps? It made sense: To keep anticipation with Cedar Pointers & so no one else can copy for the 2007 season.

I'm thinking it may be somewhat different than any other coaster- since they're so worried about it being copied. They wouldn't pay any mind to that if it were just a regular roller coaster.

Oh, I always call the supports beams...

That really doesn't mean anything.

Even if it's "different", it will still have something in common with some other kind of roller coaster. Not to mention, it's way too late for someone to come along and say "ooooh, I want what they're building for 2007, and I want it by 2007."

Sure, it'll be different from other coasters, but it's still going to be a regular roller coaster. EVen if it has the LIM lift and the LIM launch, it still won't be the first.

Agreed, CP seem to never build first-of-a-kinds or prototypes. They just build the biggest versions of each new concept. Just about all the coasters from Maggie & on were the biggest at the time. WT is the only one that hasn't been surpassed by another Impulse Coaster.

So, CP always breaks records with every coaster. Therefore this one will break at least 1 record, but what is it??

Don't thing it'll be a Wingwalker (or is that Windwalker?) as new concept & Port Adventura is building on.) Plus some supports indicate the track will be too low for the wide trains as well as that turn into the 2 rows of columns is rather narrow.

What record?? I'd like the most inversions but would that be too much for the GP? Whatever it will be, it will be awesome.

It gets better & better as more pics are posted. I'm torn between I wanna know right now and not knowing until it is completed!

I dunno about it being similar to Goliath, not much unique about that. Besides there's MF... Throwing in inversions & LIM launches would make it unique.

Looks like from the pile of supports several big frameworks will be built?

With the bunch of small footers, looks like a station to me. Note the ground is low down. That area probably will be filled with water. Like someone said the other side with the dug out area & green drainage pipe has a 'bridge' next to the many supports which is used for trucks. The 'bridge' probably will be removed & all of that filled with water, like WWL.

Honestly, I just don't see this breaking any "biggest/longest/most of" records. It might have a steep drop, but can't claim that as anything because of Dollywood's 95* next year, though a new "marketable" inversion might come along as a record for first of its kind or something.

The last sentence here cannot be even feasible by 2007. The vast majority of coasters take 2+ years of design and planning to be ready for assembly at the location.

You cannot copy a coasters design in hinsight (sp). The terrain in which the coaster is being built on could change the location of the supports, height of ride and so many other elements.

In addition, the park has to think about location in the park, what type of theming if any, ride name...etc. that will fit the parks atmosphere.

One could purchase the design I suppose, but to actually make it work in the park is totally different.

This doens't include the time to build the coaster at the steel factory, and to have it shipped to the park.

That gravel they are pouring is usually laid down before aspalt or cement is poured.

I'm thinking they might make a walkway for people to walk through that area to reach another area of the park once the ride is completed.

If they were putting this down for support for a heavy crane, I don't think they would have dug down to put that in. They would of just put it on top of the dirt already there. Plus, the that supporting gravel would need to be really wide to reach the extended arms to keep the crane from tipping over. So, I'm back to this being a road or path once they complete the ride.

In addition, the crane could actually use the road around the park to work from. Any large crane could easily reach most of the areas they want to work on from that location.

Another thing to point out, is this photo:
http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=7126
that turn would be almost impossible for any large crane to move around, since the supports are already in place.

I didn't say that. The guy who said he spoke to Monty Jasper said that.

And I mean that this looks more similar to Goliath than any other coaster.

i wish they would anounce this thing already. Does anyone know when they might do that?

Maybe the record will be "Most threads made on websites about any coaster ever"

Looks like the one near the bottom left is unrolling. But no i dont know what it is.

Nah, I think that's just an illusion because there's one on its side ;) They kinda look like wheels, or tape of some sort...
