Wow.. nice pics guys.. Thanks! Wish I could be there and see it live!
The site looks like a cluster! I'm not a construction guy (by NO means) just seems that they would get the footers poured then move on. But hey, I don't know, i'm just being a side line construction guy that has NO clue! I'm REALLY sure they have a method to their madness.
Either way, i'm happy with seeing progress on what ever it is they are building!
The amount of work they put into this "road" just seems weird to me. I know the ground may be soft, but they are driving all over everywhere else. no biggie, just something that makes me go hummm..

thanks for the updates people!

Large cranes need quite a bit more stability than a cement truck would

Well, now that they have people working on this new building, I would assume the road is so smaller vehicles like a pick-up truck can get access. The bull dozer and other excavation equipment have less of a problem driving in the muck.

it also could be for traction. the large trucks can get better traction on gravel than on dirt. they did the same thing at a construction site near my house.
Why is this support bent at the bottom and not the top?

It's probably a support for a high turn.

R.I.P. Mr. Scott
That's what I'm going to go with because it seems like a fairly good angle for it to be LIM.
Edit: I just saw this, if you flip the piece so that the two sides on the ground are up and put it on the short stubby support, it would make for a great possibility, that the station will be abouve on the tall supports, and have an LIM launch under it.

Look at this pic of Xcelerator it has plenty of those weird suppots. (even thoough they are not exactly the same as the one's at the construction site)
http://www.rcdb.com/ig1574.htm?picture=32
It will go up, but how will it? and what will it do?
even though I doubt that this will be anything like Xcelerator for many reasons. I don't think that it will have a top hat either. (way to similar to TTD then)
I think that we will have a launch going into something like this:

and then have an inclining turnaround over the old swan boat pond.
So very similar to this just reversed with the helix inclining:
