They puzzle us all....:)

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

they look like they're going to be big supports there or something but it just doesn't make sense cause the turn is just too tight. The only thing that is possibly clicking for me right now is an overbanked turn, but as u guys said...I'm puzzled...I hope to see some more track soon though to hopefully get an idea of what this thing is actually going to be!

We can figure the design as much as we want, but it's not gonna be the same unless we know what the train's gonna be!!!

I wish we knew more about the Port Aventura coaster. Construction or track pics for that may just give us some help. If anyone has any info on this or pics I'd love to see them.

EDIT: I was able to find this:

Name: unknown
Acceleration: From 0 to 135km/h in 3’5 seconds
Track and Special elements: Tunnel launch, upon Mediterranean lake part, Almost touching elements with ground, water and other elements.
Looping: no
Train: An aeroplane with the seats floor-less at the laterals of the wagon floating from the track
Duration: 55 seconds
Capacity: 1500 pph
Approved: 12-13 December.
Size: very big
Construction: 1’5 years
Cost: more than 6 M€

Source: La Vanguardia spanish newspaper.

The most interesting part is the construction time, which is similiar to CP's. If you search Port Aventura 2007 you can find some interesting coaster train designs for the ride. I didn't want to post the link because I'm not quite sure of that rule.

Considering they also left most of the ques for White Water Landing and what they left in place in the station I think they are going to use it for part of the que not the ride itself. It's perfect for a place for the line to travel threw and help add some theme and ambiance to the ride. I think they will work the line into the building in a unique and space saving way. And they could reuse those WWL footers to be used for a walkway, since they lead almost directly to where the supposid station will be placed. I would think the footers can support a walkway. I think the old que lines outside of WWL will be used as an extension que, for when it gets realy busy, since they left that standing as well, or maybe that will be part of the regular line. Now the only thing with this is the entrance to WWL was kind of hidden behind the restaurant, but whose to say thats where the line will start.

Maybe those Port Aventura trains would be cool, but in FrontierTown??

Instead of airplanes, will they be stagecoaches?

I think stage coaches would be cool, but a little hard to do for anycoaster... But I am sure disney imagineering could figure out a way to do it with out the stage coach wheels falling off... :)

I just checked out what if you said...I'm impressed, not to mention excited if this is the idea they're using for CP

lol guys...how do u take something what some one else said and give them credit for it in those nice quote boxes.

Thanks

I feel silly for asking but i'm fairly new at this lol. your help would gretaly be appreciated

Look for the "quote" button on the top-right of said person's post. ;)

PortAventura's '07 coaster is a prototype Intamin Wingwalker, it's basically a regular hydraulic launch coaster with a new train type. Think of an S&S 4D train, with the cars out past the track, but they don't spin any (hence the "wingwalker" name).

I still think there's a fair chance that CP's '07 coaster could also be a Wingwalker, but if it is I think it's more likely that the train style will be used with a traditional lift rather than a launch.

Just from the pictures i can't really get a gauge for how much room there is for a lift hill, unless it's revolutionary. A launch would be great and all but after TTD, it's just sort of redundant you know, and probably not nearly as fun, even if there were loops, twists, dives, etc. (from a launching stand point anyway) I would rather have it have the traditional lift hill big first drop too

Alot of people can't ride TTD and if they built a coaster with a little tamer launch, it would be a family launched coaster. Plus, I strongly think that this ride will have both a launch and a lift hill.

Btw, that dosen't mean it'll be like Hulk, it means it'll launch and do whatever, then go onto a lift hill and have a entire second part of the ride.

I believe the second half will be a bit better then the first... I dare someone to ask me why...

I'll bite....why?

If I'm not mistaken, the only WWL footers left standing are the ones currently surrounded by the old concrete overflow trench used for WWL. Now I don't know what they plan on doing with that trench, but if they dig it up eventually I would guess that the footers would be removed then. It would be too much of a hassle to try and jack hammer around them just to remove them now when they coul have more suitable (larger) equipment to do it later if they remove the trench. If they don't dig it up, then they may just cover it with dirt and let the old footers remain. And by the looks of their dirt pile, they have plenty to just cover it up if they wanted to.

I guess it would be kinda cool, if those trains were used.

isn't Maverick like a plane name in top gun? kind of like the plane structure of a Wingwalker and such???? *** Edited 6/4/2006 7:13:46 AM UTC by Sean Malone*** *** Edited 6/4/2006 7:14:19 AM UTC by Sean Malone***
