Uniforms!

That sounds alot better than my summer where you got a #### brindel brown pair of so called athletic shoes that promptly fell apart while 20 dollars was taken out of your meager paycheck. I kept mine together with shoe goo for the entire season..Not a pretty sight/smell at season end
Just lemme tell you about the pain associated with walking the midway all day in those shoes- ouch. I'm already considering training myself so I don't get completely rocked the first couple weeks. I wonder what the average mileage is an area sup walks is per day?

Tolls crew - Yellow shirts with white stripe and tan shorts

Just wanted to correct this one thing, other then that AWESOME post, very detailed. Traffic / Tolls crews wear black shorts, at least they did last time I knew (I could be wrong of course). I haven't seen the uniforms for this season but would assume they haven't changed. The shirts are also half white and half yellow divided diagnoally(sp?). Thanks again for the post, very nice.

I was curious about the socks we are supposed to have? I remeber when i talked on the phone they had to be a certain heighth above your ankles. At least i think thats what i remember him saying well anyways if someone has any clue id appreciate if they could let me know:-) thanks

Most people wear socks that are just above the ankles...no knee socks and no bare feet in the tennis shoes. Socks should be white.

Question: How much are the CP uniforms and how many do you get to start off with? Curious since here at Kennywood we get three pairs of shorts and shirts for $36

You get 2 uniforms for free, if you loose it you will have to pay for it. At the end of your contract you have to turn it in. If you don't turn in exactly what they give you at the time of processing in they take it out of your bonus.

Also, we have to buy any accessories that we might want such as rain suits (around $22 and 100% necessary) and the blue suits (top and/or bottoms) which are in the $50 range. If you're only working during the hot part of the summer, you can probably get away without getting a blue suit (I did in '01, but I might get one this year) and just go with one or two normal sweatshirts which were like $13.

But yea, the basic parts of the uniform are provided by CP and you can exchange one each day at Wardrobe for a clean set.

So hey - a Kennywood employee! I am heading out to Kennywood opening day and I can't wait. I went last year and had an awesome time. Hopefully they'll have both trains ready on Phantom's Revenge for next weekend. That ride seriously kicks butt! I love Magnum, but PR is right there with it! :)

Yes, I'll be there bright and early at 9AM next Saturday.

PR is a great little green monster. Hopefully it will run full force the whole year.

Don't forget the ever-important CP belts and hats... Most uniforms require one, the other, or both. These are things you have to pay for (but they're super cheap, of course! ^_^). However, if you're a returner and have the same uniform the next summer, you can keep them if they're still in good condition and use them year after year, so you get lots of use out of a minimal investment.
