Uniforms

I'm just noticing this, it seems the park is becomming less diverse in uniforms.
Last year I saw games had green/purple.
Merch had the plaid, etc.

Now all games and merch have plaid.

Also, paddlewheel, DT, and other ride ops are wearing the standard Red/Blue and not their typical themed outfits.

Any ideas to why?

PS. If this was posted, delete, I was not around the past spring much.

Indy's back and just in time.

I have also noticed that some ride ops do not have the standard red/blue on, but rather, a solid red shirt with no other color in it at all.
When I worked ealier this season on Wicked Twister, I wore the standard red shirt with the blue collar, and the blue shorts. Everyone that I saw or worked with had the same uniform on. Perhaps things have changed in ride operations since I've worked there. I did notice the new uniforms for games and merchandise. Don't know why they changed though.
The reason for the solid red shirt was a lack of shirts in various sizes... i believe small was the first to have this problem for rideops... anyone else?

I noticed the Camp Snoopy ride ops have also lost the "boy scout uniform" this year in favor of the regular red & blue uniform all the other ops wear.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

The themed uniforms are cool to look at, though I doubt they are very comfortable to work in (especially in the case of Camp Snoopy). Perhaps it is easier to keep up with the demand for clean uniforms with uniforms that require little extra attention (ie ironing). Of course, the switch from the purple and aqua shirts to plaid for Games wouldn't support this theory. I happen to think the new Games uniforms look exceedingly sharp. Too bad many employees in other departments couldn't also wear such nice, button-down type shirts.

Let me just say that the people in merch weren't happy about the games thing. You couldn't tell Merch people from games people and being a TL, I needed to know who was a merch person so I could tell them to tuck their uniform in or something

Heh, if you're an ATL, TL or a sup, you should feel you can tell that to anyone in any department in a friendly reminder sort of way. I can't even estimate the number of employees I've stopped from departments other than Admissions to tell them to tuck their shirt in, stop smoking in the park (one of these was a light green tag...heh), etc. Employees who are doing these things haven't ever challenged me saying that I have no right to let them know because I'm from another department. Usually, they've just forgot a policy and are glad I'm just reminding them so that they wouldn't be caught by, say, Mr. Keller. ^_^

Hey Guys!

I don't know what's up with the games and merchandise uniforms, but I do know what happened to Camp Snoopy, DT, and Paddlewheel.

Most ride hosts are trained on multiple rides and so, when other rides need break help or someone to cover a shift, they pull the cross-trained employees from these other rides. It was logical, therefore, to have standard ride host uniforms throughout the park. Some patrons might be a little leary of someone in a camp snoopy uniform dispatching a train at Magnum. And, while the DT uniforms might have been all right in the a/c, you put one of those long sleeve, long pants outfits in kiddy kingdom and you're just asking for heat stroke!

Two words...budget cuts. AKA, you don't need them, cut them back! (which was NICE early on in the season!)

red and blue bah. It was all about the teal short shorts and the fish shirts!! Ooh and the pretty teal warmups were almost as cool as the purple barney the dinosaur ones.

When did the Paddlewheel lose their themed outfits? I had to stop a guy while working in traffic that was wearing the themed outfit. This was at the peak of the season when they had the employee parking ban at soak city.

The uniforms that are currently worn look alot more comfortable than the plutonium proof RAYON monstrosities that were worn 25 years ago...Yuck...

I wish they would go back to the uniforms for Paddlewheel, Camp Snoopy, and Disaster Transport!! I think it made those areas unique!!!

foods got new uniforms last year too lol same colors just instead of pull over shirts it was button up shirts . different design marks on the shirt and less see through when you caught in a unexpected rain.

I miss the uniforms they had before. It does suck that they had to make all the rides uniforms the same. I think I wore them all to the exception of the Paddlewheel one.

i worked in games last summer and the uniforms were ok but some people couldn't tell us apart from merchandise.

I actually liked those. It seems like they're part of that ride. Usually seeing a red shirt running the boats or the Disaster tells me they were short handed and needed some extras.

Sorry to bump this, but I almost posted a new topic.
