Two Towers?

They get the equipment in and out through the area where the flat turn will be, so that's why there are no footers there.

CP has said that there will be a major thrill ride for 2003, but that's about it. They plan to gain publicity of the mystery of the ride, and so far it's worked out pretty well.

thats very true.

but if it is going to be a l-th-b, then right now, what we see is what we get. and i dont get why cp is holding back on the announcement if it is obvious what its going to be.

Sure things now seem to point towards a L-TH-B coaster. But there are still flags inside and outside of the construction area. I will have pictures of these to post Friday night. They were there last Saturday and Im sure they will be there tomorrow. They havnt done a lot of work to the area by ID where they drained the lagoon, which makes me believe that they are waiting for the park to close to do that work. Why? i have no idea, justa hunch. There are several pieces of track and support that point towards than the simple "L-TH-B". Those, again, I will get pictures of tomorrow. I have some pictures of this stuff and I have seen other post similar pictures to mine at Danimation, and the Point Online. But I would like to get some more recent pictures just incase we got a few more presents in the parking lot. And there are some footers I hold in question as to their relevence. Hopefully I will see some good stuff to tell eveyone about and try to put some pieces of this crazy puzzle together!
Even though all evidence I've seen points to a L-TH-T-B coaster (and I'm still very confident that this is what the final product will be), what if instead of 2 towers there were 2 tophats confined to the same tower. The train would go up the tower the first time (about 400 ft) and instead of turning a full 180 degrees on the tophat, turns 90 degrees and heads to Millie Island for some elements (overbanked turn, bunny hop, etc.). It would then return and traverse the tower again, only this time only at about the 300 ft level (to account for the energy lost during the rest of the ride and then hit the final brake run. I don't know if anyone has come up with anything like this theory yet. Once again, it's just one of the many unlikely possibilities.
I thought it might do just that a while ago, but since then it's become morea nd more evident that it won't. Not to say that I wouldn't like it to be...but I'm a realist.

Like everyone else, I am quickly converting to the new theory of L-TH-T-B. I just have one question, where are all the curved (negative G) track pieces going - it does not appear that they all will fit on top of the tower.

Tom

If the ride did do that it would definitly "rock my world" more than a L-TH-B would.

The Fast and the Fearless

What has come upon you people, some of you just make it hurt me so much to complain about only a 400 footer(possibly). I wish my homepark had something in the area of 150. Then theres the fact that you get two coasters in a row??? Whats up with that, and you have gotten four adult size coasters since 96, what has PCW got........Zero. Just to make sure that i don't get off topic here, there is still the possibility of a second tower, the brakes are on but maybe it'll only slow the train down to about 40 miles that still leaves enough speed to climb a hill of about 80 feet with some good air time before comeing back to the station.

Dingo, there are a coupple of pics that show there will be brakes there. This shows flat track with magnetic brakes sitting next to the supports. This one also shows it.

Although I couldn't find a picture of it, there is an obvious transition from box track to flat track that can be seen looking at the supports. There are shorter supports immediately followed by slightly longer ones. The only explanation for this is that the flat (braking) track would need higher supports than the box track. This is evident if you look at MF's track as it goes into the brake run.

Let's ride the "Sky Ride Sponsored By The Ohio Lottery Odds Are You'll Have Fun" Ride!

check out virtual midways newest widescreen pic. it shows the height change in the supports. i noticed that after the pull out the supports are pretty even. then shortly after the transition the supports gradually slope down. but why would the brakes have to extend that far down all the way past iron dragon's second lift. i don't know we'll find out sooner or later.
