TTD Running Smoothly

I waited 15 minutes for Dragster today (Sunday). (And, it was before 4:30, Maverick? It was indeed open before you got there.)

First fans, now a hose dripping water. I guess whatever helps?

Anonymous: How long was it open before 4:30? I was told only a few trains ran before they shut it down right before I got there. I am glad you and Dan had great days on TTD as well ! Like I said ... you just never know.

A little off the topic but is friday a bad day to go to Cp to ride Dragester?

Friday is a bad day to go to Cedar Point to ride the sky ride, let alone Dragster.

Is it worst than Saturday

Is Friday Worse Than Saturday

Give me an Example Of the Wait times!

Last Friday, I waited 1:05 outside of the queue for the ride to re-open. After re-opening, nearly an hour wait judging by the amount of people left inside the queue when the ride originally went down. While waiting inside the queue, 1hour, 12 minutes of down time. Could of been on a train after 3 hours, 5 minutes. Waited for the front seat- total wait time: 3:27

I haven't actually seen this sign, but I read on CBuzz that next to the TTD status sign that's at the front gates was another sign stating "Top Thrill Dragster will be closed from August 18th to August 29th for repairs". It was mentioned in the thread (by reliable people like Jeff, not some idiot) that the cooling system is being replaced and a new sled is coming. Just thought this was a little bit relevent in the official TTD thread.

A new sled was installed sunday afternoon.. I saw it with my own two eyes.. and now garden hoses are keeping the cable and launch wet and cool for now.. it is kinda cool when the cable comes back after a launch there is a little fountain type water spout putting on a show by the launch.. :)

TTD rides =14
Time spent waiting for those rides= 37.5 hours.

Please tell me that this is just some sort of horrible horrible joke! I'm going from Aug. 25-26 and i was looking forward to riding TTD. I've been preparing myself for a non-running TTD while i'm there with hopes of maybe getting to ride, but this is a real bummer if I know for sure before i ever leave that it will be closed for sure. Even just getting to watch a train launch would be kool enough for me! But not this!

I have the worst of luck.

Yes, actually, it is "some sort of horrible, horrible joke." If you read the rest of the thread on Coasterbuzz, you will see that the person who reported that it would be closed made the whole thing up.

Yea, I've been following up with that. It would be completely stupid of Cedar Point to stop running TTD this late in the season when they can just wait until september and fix it during the week while the park is closed, or just wait until the off season.

I was at Cedar Point today, or by the time this gets posted, yesterday the 13th, and I want to give major credit to the Dragster crew. The ride ran great and they were hitting their intervals very nicely. There were only a few, short breakdowns today and I was very impressed at the efficency they were running the trains at. Good job and it was nice to see the ride running so well.

Yes, I was on it both Sun. and Wed. nights, and both days the wait time was only about an hour. Trains were being launched like clockwork, it really seems like this ride has turned a corner in the last week.

Well, TTD appears to be down again. Does any one know what the problem is this time or how long it will be down?

<Edit> I just reread the status report and realized that it says "We hope to have TTD back in operation later today." But does anyone know the problem?

Last time they changed the status report to "we hope to have it operational later today," it opened three days later. So you can't expect it to be very accurate.

------------------
TTD Launches: 6
MF Laps (2003): 13
Rapter Laps (2003): 9

"We hope" is not the same thing as "we expect." It means "we haven't yet decided that it is impossible."

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

Heh, I just realized this and found it pretty funny.

Cedar Point sends out an email proclaiming "Dragster is Back!". The next day, Dragster breaks down.

Cedar Point announces that Dragster gave more rides on Sunday than it had any previous day. The next day, Dragster breaks down.

I think this machine likes messing with us.
