TTD Running Smoothly

um, maybe i have to underline it for you...wait i cant...how about bold...

thats what the lightning rod sticking at the top is for.

fine, a lightning storm or hurricane is coming, close it...but not for a little bit of rain or some wind...and thats what some of you make it sound like.

The fact that you won't be anywhere near us is wonderful...now how about you don't come anywhere near this site again because within your 7 posts you have already proven yourself to be an ass clown.

...and the most anticipated event of summer 2003 is...

The Matrix: Reloaded!

They close close it when it starts to rain because going that fast would really hurt. Have you ever been on MF in the rain. Probably not. It hurts like hell in the front seat.

Let me just take a piece of what you said...

im sick of you ignorant people who dont use their mind.

Excuse me, have you been hit by a raindrop at 90 MPH? It hurts like hell! Now imagine going that extra 30 MPH on Top Thrill Dragster.

Now about enjoying our "crappy inefficient roller coaster" why if it is so crappy and inefficient that you are posting here? Also, have you ever seen a coaster running during a lightning storm whether it has a lightning rod or not on the top? No, why? Because it's unsafe. Once again, I'm going to use that quote only cleaned up and used towards you. I'm sick of you ignorant people who dont use their minds!

Wanna Get High? Ride Top Thrill Dragster!
RIP Top Thrill Dragster Themeing, who lies here in pieces on June 26, 2003.

Ok TopThrillcrapster (nice name by the way LOL), I have to admit I sometimes get sick of the CP fanboys on here that defend CP at every turn no matter what. But not shut TTD down because of lightning?? LOL ALL coasters (and most rides) I know of at ANY park shut down when there is the threat of lightning. Its just common sense to do so.

I was at Michigan Adventure a couple of years ago and the station for Shivering Timbers got hit by lightning and the girl at the controls got a shock. They cleared the station and shut the ride down until the storm had completely passed. Last I checked ST is about 1/3 the height of TTD. So I dont know where you are coming from with your lightning theory.

This ride has problems, no doubdt. I think it will continue to have some. But hopefully it will run better and better the rest of the season. We will just have to wait and see.

well, you know magnum stil has it's occasional problems. Cedar Point has the highest uptime of almost any park. Rides do break down and I think dragster is running very well considering what they have had to deal with.

I appreciate your opinion Crapster so please do the same for others. Let people have their opionion instead of saying how they should think.

I'm sorry that you don't like TTD. Have you ever ridden it? If you dislike it so much why are you wasting your time commenting on it? I personally think that it is an awesome ride. You don't and that's fine. But why all the hostility?

Right, now i turned on the webcam and i see that TTD opened at 9:05. That is incredible...Possibly the first On-Time opening ever for TTD. Sure is nice to see TTD alive and kickin'

And it is kickin'! The only problem is that I don't think they managed to get both trains out of the station at the same time yet. One will go up to the launch pad, and then the other train will leave the station! But the ride is running great sao far. I've seen lots of 45-55 second intervals, and thats good for the capacity. Can anyone tell how many trains they are running?
All six trains are running.

The fact it opened on time is very amazing. Usually it is pushing early afternoon when it opens. That is the best sign that the majority of problems have been corrected.

TTD Launches: 4
MF Laps (2003): 6
Rapter Laps (2003): 5

Check that again, they are running 5 trains. There is one on the transfer track. You can barely see behind the tree. Its on the first transfer.

bear with me please, i'm a newbie, going to CP first time in sept:

okay, the CP.com webcam loads every 60 seconds, right? I can see the trains going around the station, haven't caught one going up or down. how can you tell the intervals, etc etc?

got it thanks. finally saw one going over on the semi live cam too. pretty cool.
I definitely think that it's time to cheer now that it is back up, though it has those temporary downtimes, they are expected like it says on the status page. But like someone said, I think that it is better than being down all the time, I wonder how long those Intamin mechanics are going to stay?

------------------
Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

It seems to take the ride-ops a long time to get the trains out the station. That's the only problem.
My guess is for a week or so just so they can make sure everything is checking out. You can bet they are performing a whole lot of extra inspections, particulary on the hydraulics. I bet they are still trying to work the small bugs out...such as the kicker whel issue and the block problems. I think it is definately safe to say that they have got it this time around :)

JoshBrown, I think you are being a bit premature with your declaration. It has been running 2 days now. I would agree that things look encouraging but to say they have got it this time at this point is a stretch. I hope so, but I think the tell tale sign is if it gives a whole week of at least semi reliable operation. Then we will know it is on its way for sure.
It's about 2:26 and it looks like it's been closed.
