So I hear TTD will be getting some fresh paint. Will this be a one off season project? The coaster would look pretty strange painted half way... :P
I'd imagine they could get the whole thing in one offseason (when it gets warmer that is). But if they do split it up, I could see them focusing on the tower and track sperately.

I'll be excited to see alot of white on some supports again :D

I think Millenium Force took 2 off-seasons to repaint.

A minor issue. With the right plan and the right harnesses, you can scale that ride no problem. The track alone is like a ladder. :)

I can't wait to hopefully see pictures of it all glossy like it was prior to opening, truly awesome.
Too bad I won't be here to ride it, ah well

It hasn't been started.

Hard to paint in the middle of winter. Cold, wind and snow do not make good working conditions for paint. Not like they can enclose TTD like they did with Breakers.

There, fixed.
Though I can tell when Dragster is getting repainted......like, I can sense it somehow. Weird I know!

Or can they... o.O
This may be a dumb question, but I know nothing about painting coasters. Do different manufacturers require their coasters to use a specific type of paint? It seems like the paint on the Corkscrew and magnum are brighter than the intamin and b&m coasters. Unless both Corkscrew and Magnum had both recently been repainted.
That decision is up to the park. There are specific types of paint for steel. And when they do repaint them, it's all rolled. In regards to the manufacturer, I do believe each manufacturer has different methods of painting the steel they produce.

If you stand in the line of Iron Dragon you can see where orange paint has dripped, that may not of happened if they sprayed on the paint.
The track pieces and supports are sprayed by the manufacturer after they are assembled. If a park wants to repaint them, it is rolled on. To my knowledge, I have not seen or heard of a coaster having a new coat of paint sprayed on. Here are some examples:
