TTD damage, how?

if you look at the top right of the nose you will see where the white stuff comes up of the train. You have to look closely but i can assure you that it does which means that it cant be cracks. There, its settled now shut up and go to sleep. Its clear that the tiredness is getting to ya.

Those are not cottonseeds or anything else, the blue train is in fact cracked around the rubber bumper. I noticed this a week ago when I was at the park. I believe this cracking is completely normal. The entire front half of the train is made completly out of fiberglass and hardly has any strength. The rubber bumper continues about 6 inches farther into the fiberglass (you can see this when standing below the trains when in the queue line) and it's purpose is to cusion collisons between the trains, especially when they are moving them around in the staging areas. These bumpers can be found on almost all coasters. Most likely the train bumped into the back of the train ahead and caused the bumper to compress quite a bit, thus causing the fiberglass to crack. Wether this has been repaired or not i do not know.

I also noticed there is a very large steel "bumper" on the back of each of the trains, it appears to be designed so that the front of the train behind would crush up inside of it. The only purpose I can see for it would be as a last point of defense if a rollback occured and the brakes somehow? didn't function.

Coasters? I thought those were those things you put under your drink? ...am I on the wrong site?

All coasters have bumpers, and they are not connected directly to the fiberglass body either. I would imagine that they are there more to protect against some small speed bump-togethers than a 120 mph crash. I'm not sure if it is cracked or not, but it doesn't really pose a huge saftey hazard either, the fiberglass is just there for looks :)

Yes....it's cracked! It's been like that since opening day. I'm sure that if it was a huge issue of safety they would have taken the train off, fixed it and returned it back to the track. Ya never know....maybe the yellow train was on the receiving end of the bump and that's why it was missing. It'll just be another mystery unless CP decides to give us details or someone else here knows more. =)

Well, now that both sides of the arguement have been presented, Judge CP will now make a ruling. Let's hope that whatever it is, that it won't impede on the operation of the coaster any further than it is already eh?

Did you guys ever think that maybe it's bird crap? The reason I don't think it's cracked is because if it was, it wouldn't show white. It would show a more metallic color. Also, I don't think it would crack so much like that, it would dent maybe, but look shattered like that, no.

Looks like a lot of Bird crap to me.

Ohio State, here I come!

Perhaps you have a point Jeff da Beat. But have you ever taken an unbreakable comb made of dark blue plastic? It says unbreakable but if you try to break it, it simply bends very far and never breaks. The point is, the coloring turns white after it used to be blue. I'm only suggesting that this could happen to the coaster's front. After all, the front is a type of plastic, just like the comb.

Also, did any of you look at the track. There is white stuff on that also so what makes you think that it isnt the same stuff. It could very well be.

maybe, it hit something, remember when the one post said something about a train hitting a bird, that can do some pretty substantial damage at high speeds.
I saw it Saturday. It was cracked no doubt about it either. Even after they launched it a few times, It was the same. If it was cottonwood it would of blown off for sure.

Sorry to bust the bubbles of the people that insisted that it was just cottonwood but your wrong. The front cone on the blue train was gone today so it was cracked and they removed it to replace it.

What I want to know is how the web address got on the track? Are they some sort of sponsor? And finally, how can I buy some space on the TTD track? C'mon people, think.

heh - no real reason.. I just put GTTP on last, so I put it on the next one down :)
I went up to the Point today, and psycho was right. . . there is a new nosecone on the blue train. Instead of being flat on the front, it is more rounded under. . . it's really hard to explain. I forgot my camera, but if someone could take a picture of the new cone you can tell for sure. Strangely enough, I only noticed the new cone on the blue train.
