I don't get why Troika was even in the discussion of being removed. Just because you have a new roller coaster coming in beside it, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to remove it. Just relocate it somewhere else in the park. I'm glad to hear they are keeping it, I see no good reason to remove it.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
I love Troika, sorry I haven't been on here in forever, had to get a new computer last year and lost all my favorites. Just found this site again after being lazy about it.
Question: I can't fit on Raptor, too big in the stomach (I can fit on the test seat though, go figure). Am I too big for Mantis? Do they have a test seat?
If you can't fit on Raptor, Mantis would not be comfortable at all. There is a test seat near the entrance, which is identical to the actual seats, but remember that the "bike seat" on the actual ride locks into position before the train dispatches. On this ride, you have almost 4 G's of force to support in your knees and/or via the "bike seat". The more you weigh, the more force this ends up being.
My legs are pure muscle too and I'm not a small guy. But honestly I have to say I really don't enjoy riding Mantis. The legs are not the issue for me but the darn OTSR on Manis always whacks me silly on the sides of my ears and head mid way through the ride on the slanted loop. (And I do keep my head back like the ride ops say.)
Also when riding Mantis, listen to the ride ops on the platform on how to STAND and adjust the "bike seat" before it locks. Remember it's a STAND-UP coaster. Don't be a dumb dumb and try to ride it fully sitting on the "bike seat" or you will be in for a nasty surprise (especially on the guys). One of my old hooligan friends from my younger years learned this the hard way.
On mantis i recommend holding your head to one side. If you can see the direction of the ride, hold left before it goes right. Then hold right when it goes left.

There's always a chance of it being hit by SS when it comes toppling down. ;) Then again, we wouldn't want WT to get hit, so maybe they should just aim it towards the games booths.
I was wondering, how long do they plan on keeping Troika enclosed in the fence area? Is it just until Disaster Transport is completely destroyed?
I think that sounds about right. When they're done with the "12 E" area of DT, they'll probably move the fence back where it was and keep it there for the rest of construction. I just hope they end up drilling peepholes like what they did with Maverick.
Bah, I couldn't fit on the test seat of Mantis, I have a ways to go to lose enough weight. As far as Troika, I didn't know there was a wall closing off that ride when I went today. I really hope they keep it and if they have to, put it somewhere else in the park, I see something is being dug up under Mean Streak, what's that about?

I hope I have a solid bowel movement today, but I may not.
