Usually If I have a trip planned and it isn't going to pour the entire day, I won't cancel the trip. A lot of Ohio/Michigan days are 80 - 90 degrees. So I don't see why that would turn anyone away.
I didn't mean to be rude, but a lot of people come here almost every day and ask the same question. What will the crowds be like. So sorry if I and some others seemed to be short with you, but it is just a commonly asked question. And since none of us are psychics, we really can't predict what the park will be like on a particular day.
Now if you asked a question like, should I be going since there is 90% t showers all day, then that would be different. But asking if people will turn away from the park on a 90 degree day just seemed silly to me, because the summer is hot. So a lot of days are going to be hot. And I don't think people will cancel their trips for that.

I cant talk for cedar point because i have never been there when it has been discustingly hot , but dorney park has small crowds when it is really hot because every one is in the water park area. I know when the water park closes , then the lines get huge because they all pile into the park. Not sure if cedar point is the same, but i bet alot of people will be in the water park in the afternoon.
Temperature affects crowds far less than precipitation does. Hot temps may keep locals and enthusiasts away, but they make up such a small part of the crowds at the park. The general public will go to the park whether it is 75 or 95... The one thing that is definitely affected by the temps is Soak City attendance and lines at the water rides. You can be pretty sure of that.

"I've seen it on a hot day in the 90's when the park was jam packed, and I've also seen it equally hot when you could throw a frisbee across the midway. Not very helpful, is it?"-Ensign Smith
Reguardless of crowds I'm coming with a trunk full of frisbees. That just sounds like fun. Duck and Cover on the midway on August 26.
I'll be back!

But I wouldn't mind seeing a video of that . . . :)

I agree with you Josh. That is exactly what I was saying. I don't think that I have ever heard someone say, "Well the weather is going to be in the 90's, so I think I will cancel my trip to CP."
When it gets that hot, I usually don't head over to SC, but just take a break on Thunder Canyon. That will cool me off for a bit. The lines are usually way shorter than the coaster lines too. So if it is extrememly hot after waiting an hour in line for each coaster, I will just run back over to TC and then get in line for another coaster.

Hey...i am goin tomorrow with my youth group. I was reading a Trip report from last thursday and he said that most of the big rides (Maverick, MF,etc) were 1 1/2 to 2 hr waits. I was like "whoa thats crazy for a weekday. Then he also said that TTD and Raptor were closed all day do i figured that had something to do with it. Then agian last year i went on a monday in july and waited 2 hrs for everything...CRAZY....You just dont know.
That was my post and I've visited the park since on the 13th (See Just when you thought it was slow trip report)
Raptor is up now and TTD was never closed all day, but suffered some downtime.
Ride times both last Sunday and Thursday are definitely in the 1.5 hour wait range for the key rides like TTD, Maverick, and Raptor.
dude....let me tell you...it was like EMPTY...our longest wait all day was 45 min and that was for maverick twice. Raptor was 10 min all day as was MF. Dragster was half hour but it broke down before we were able to ride. Everything else was a walk on.
