Trip this Thursday?

Well, my family and I are planning to go to Cedar Point this Thursday. The weather forecast is partly cloudy and a high of 88. No rain. It is going to be hot and sunny all week. Does high heat = bigger or smaller crowds? I absolutely hate crowds! From what I am reading, it seems CP is really crowded this year. In the last couple years (when I went, yes in JULY), MF and TTD lines were 30 minutes and everything else was less than that. Raptor and Mantis were 15 minutes. Now everything is at least an hour! I'm not used to those types of lines! I'm hoping they crowds won't be like that, but I think most likely they will be...Can anyone tell me how they think it will be this day? Do the high temperatures drive people away? Or the opposite? Please don't refer me to the thread that says "How will crowds be on any given day?". I have looked at that, I want some real opinions. Thank you! :)

Here's your answer.

That's as best we can get.

Wow, this is like the 4th thread started this week with the same question.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

We could all give you opinions, but that won't tell you how crowded the park will be. If you hate crowds, then why go in the middle of the summer, when the park is the most crowded?

You must have been lucky to catch the park on a not so crowded day in July in the last few years.

The models are broked for Thursday, sorry.

Wow you guys aren't very helpful...

If we tell you 'It won't be crowded' and it is, you'll be pissed off at us.

If we tell you 'It'll be crowded' and it turns out to be empty, you'll be pissed off at us.

If we just don't tell you anything, you're pissed off at us.

We really didn't have a winning answer.

Boo hoo!!!

No, I won't be pissed off. I'm not that kind of person. I wouldn't be mad at you, but maybe disappointed that I didn't pick the best day to go. I was just wondering if heat means crowds. I don't go to Cedar Point as often as all of you. I am a new member and simply joined to ask a few questions. You are all very rude and aren't answering my simple questions. I was hoping since you guys have more experiences at Cedar Point that you could give me an idea of what it will be like. I guess I won't be coming back on this site...

Thanks for nothing.

Oh and if you don't have something helpful to say, why are you posting to my question?

We are trying to help you by telling you there's no way any of us know what the crowds will be like. Even if we went to the park every day, we still can't predict what the crowds will be like on any given day.

The best way to get the information you're looking for is to read through some of the recent trip reports. That will give you an idea of what the crowds will be like. No one hear has a crystal ball, so we don't know any more than you do about how crowded the park will be.

No one here is being rude, but it gets old when the same question keeps getting asked over and over and over!

You asked a question and the people with Cedar Point experience are telling you there is no answer. And not only is there no answer, but the question gets asked here on a regular basis. Short of time travel, there is no way for anyone to tell you how many people will pass through the gates on any given date. The "how crowded will it be" post gives a tremendous amount of insight, but at the end of the day, there are simply too many variables.

Besides, what would the information do for you if we could provide it? Would you cancel your trip?

No I wouldn't cancel my trip. I am just excited is all, and I want to get an idea. Can you answer ONE question----does 90 degree heat drive crowds away or the opposite? Don't you know at least that? That's all I want to know. I'm not asking you to be psychic. I am asking you, based on the weather, what you THINK, not what you KNOW will happen. And yes, there are people being rude. Not you, but I can see rudeness on this forum already.

I've seen it on a hot day in the 90's when the park was jam packed, and I've also seen it equally hot when you could throw a frisbee across the midway. Not very helpful, is it?

The only answer I would venture is that, by and large, the park tends to be busier in July and August, which also happen to be the hottest two months of the year in Sandusky. So will it be busy for your particular trip? Nobody knows.

Y'welcome. :)

hannie, if you would have read what Walt posted it would have saved you a lot of time. There is already a thread on here, at the very top of all of the threads, explaining about that very question.

That is like me asking you, how crowded is your local grocery store going to be on august 25th, 2009. It is just as unpredictable.

In the past, the tendency has always seemed to be that hotter than heck days seem to draw large crowds.

But then again, if it was 100 degrees out and [insert some big event here] was going on, there might be nobody in the park.

I specifically asked not to direct to that thread. I HAVE SEEN IT! I know what is on there and it DOESN'T answer my question. And I'm not asking you to tell me how the crowds will be. I was asking "does very high heat mean bigger or smaller crowds?" Gosh people, can't you read??

Ok thanks. I just think it is weird how people would want to go to the park when it is miserably hot. But then again, they are guaranteed no rain. It confuses me. LOL
