Toy Factory is gonna blow your mind

It looks like Cedar Fair is using a universal layout for the haunts. The site for Halloween Haunt at Kings Island is almost identical. Nonetheless it looks fantastic, so I'm all for it. :)

Yup, its the standard layout now. Didn't Halloweeknds.com have the same layout last year? Pretty sure it did.

Edit: Now that I see it, it was the layout last season. I remember because my picture is on the site twice.

Is anyone else disappointed that they left the terrible video up on the Halloweekends website? Maybe it's just me, but I think the obvious planned scares with the same kids and their fake screams makes it look crappy.

The funny thing is, they are not planned (sort of). They just tell the group of girls to walk through the zone. Camera follows. Screamsters try and scare. This is the way it works most of the time. A couple of those shots are set up. The video shown is old from then CarnEvil was over one the Oceana midway. They have plenty of stock footage that is way better than what is on the website they could use.

Now whether or not the girls are actually scared, I dunno. But its not someone telling the Screamster "Action" and then filming it. Most of the time the Screamsters do not even know the camera is coming until they see it right in front of them.

I am not trying to offend anyone, but you can tell clearly that in points of the video it was planned, but not all of them. My point was not about the Screamsters, but mainly the kids in the video. Seriously though, the one scene that really gets me is when the girl (fake) screams for 10 seconds AFTER the initial scare..

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather seen more spontaneous and real footage, which they could have done by just video taping and walking through.

Like I said, a couple of those shots are planned. I do wish they could just walk through and film too but the park has to use "actors" for close up shots like you see. They are the same kids every season so they are not really going to be scared.

It's easily understandable, but hopefully there will be some new video in the near future.

The Doll House at Knott's has been the gold standard in indoor haunt attractions for the last couple of years. From what I've seen and heard, Toy Factory could blow that away. I was excited about what I saw two weeks ago when I walked through it, and I know it's only gotten better as they get more work done. Add in the fact that several awesome, seasoned Screamsters will be working in the house full time, and I have no doubt it will be far superior to previous houses at the point.

JT does amazing work, and I'm really excited to see what happens in years to come as long as they keep giving him creative control.

Is there really a discussion about the authenticity of the screams in a promotional video taking place? For real?

Yes, I was very disappointed in the usage of the video.

Let get back on topic. Is there anyway that the people that will be working in there to get a sneak peek. I know there is class this weekend and wondering if they will let us go through there.

Chances are slim until rehearsal night. More than likely at this point, everyone that needs to be in there working on it will be. Not much room to walk around with a crew trying to put the finishing touches on everything.

There is an invitation only event on Saturday night with tours of the Toy Factory, Eerie Estate, and "Monster Central" in the colliseum.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

How can you get an invitation?

^ Does it really matter? You're going to be going in them anyways once the season starts.

Well I would like to see where I'm working at.

You'll see all of it on dress rehearsal night. I wouldn't worry about getting an invitation. Besides, you'll be in Haunt Central for training this weekend.
