Interesting article, so we can predict waterspouts now. I wonder if they are using that system at the NWS office in Cleveland.
Does anyone know if there was a warning posted for that waterspout? For some reason I would think that a tornadic spout ,which sounds to me as it having close to the same properties as a tornado , However weak it is would show on radar with a hook echo (which I think would only be seen in the presence of rain) or opposite wind directions on Doppler.
Last I wonder if the 77 Tornado was just a water/land spout, It was recorded as being weak, and Late June/Early July seems to be the time when waterspouts are common in that area.
