Top Thrill STILL closed

I live in Alabama too, Alabama Hick. I'll be going to CP in 19 days. Can't wait.
All six trains are running, well they were earlier today.

trips to CP:3 Dragster:1 MFer:4 Magnum: 8 doesn't get any better then a nice day in may!

Alabama Hick, after hearing one of the ride operators talking about the delay after they tested the trains with employees, he said that they were waiting for some more tests to come back to see if they could open it. Well, about 30-45 minutes later, the Intiman mechanic came walking out of the hydraulic building towards the station. Ten minutes later, they called all TTD workers to the platform, and they opened it. I'm guessing they were just checking the cable some more.

But there were signs at the entrances stating Dragster was going to be down all day. I still don't see what the problem is here. How on earth should he be compensated for that? He was the one who based is trip primarily on *1* ride and when he couldn't ride, he feels his trip was all for not....

Were you there? Because guess what. THERE WERE NO SIGNS AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE WHEN THE PARK OPENED. Perhaps you didn't read it the first time.

And I never went for *1* ride. It was the primary reason but not the only one. My trip was not for (ahem)...naught.

ShaneM give it up its a lost cause too little too late. Yes you can have opinions, yes you can display them here (if relating to CP) But we also have opinions and they don't agree with yours. Sorry thanks for callin'! hopefully your next trip will be better, and you will have more positive things to say.

yeah forcedude but it just pissed off the general public. getting us pumped up by watching the employees ride it, clapping and hollering, and then waiting an extra hour.

vdogg, where at do you live.

Hmm. Going June 18th? I'll be at the park in the afternoon on the 17th, all day the 18th and in th emorning on the 19th... I'll be the freak wearing all the red wings stuff ;)
If you're talking about me, bholcomb, I'll be leaving for CP on the 18th, but I won't actually be in Sandusky until the 19th. I'm using Greyhound to get out there. And I'm staying at the Mecca Motel. Alabama Hick, I stay in west Alabama. So boring over here.
Alabama Hick,

So you would have rather rode right after the employees before the OK was given to open it? Cedar Point was just making sure that the ride was going to be safe to ride. If you would have gotten on immediately following those test runs and something went wrong with the cable just before you launched you would have been more poed than you were to wait an extra hour. It isn't like Cedar Point made you wait. You have no grounds to stand on as far as anger is concerned. Hey, you rode it! It was great!

EDIT: I got in line about 3:05. There were about four sets of test runs during the four and a half hours I waited. Each of them were about an hour apart. I was not dwelling on the fact that the ride was not opening while in line. I was standing, sitting, and sleeping there glad that Cedar Point was working their mechanics like no other to get a ride up when it would be closing so soon.

Everyone just needs to give up on trying to find some dumb reason to complain about. If you want to complain you are not attending the park you need to. Hop over to some Six Flags parks.

They wouldn't put employees on an unsafe ride.

That's Ridiculous™

No, Anonymous, they wouldn't. I didn't word myself very clearly. Basically, I was saying that CP would not have opened the ride when not everything had came back OK as far as the cable was concerned. They did a lot of test runs with empty trains before they added the employees. Employees would not have been angry if the cable would have snapped before they launched, while the general public would have been furious! They probably would have been telling Cedar Point to fix it right before they open it. They probably were wanting to get the cable checked out and somewhat "worn in" before they increased the load on it.

TTD looks to be up and running now. Barring breakdowns, it should be running like normal throughout the season and for many seasons to come.
forcedude, notice how i said "GENERAL PUBLIC"...

that's all i'm going to say.
