Soooo...any new news with dragster?
I saw elsewhere that the hydraulic drum has been disassembled and parts were sitting in the CP Shores parking lot. This was news from the other day, so I am not 100% certain it is all still sitting there.
There's been a bunch of new "Phase 2" permit filings over the last couple weeks, so construction should be ramping up very soon.
This first one I already posted several pages ago, but it's for a new 1100sqft electrical building:
Next up is a permit for the new 3600sqft ride station - will be interesting to see if this is all new construction of if it will reuse the existing structure:
There was also a new ride foundations permit filed. I'm assuming these foundations will be for the switch track and maintenance/transfer track, but I'm sure we'll know more in a few weeks. For reference, the permit for the Phase 1 foundations for the three spike footers was filed on Feb 22nd, and we started seeing construction in late March.
And lastly, there were two permits filed for the conversion of existing buildings - a 3000sqft equipment building, which I'm assuming was the building that housed the hydraulic motor, and a 1000sqft electric building, which I'm assuming was the building located right behind the station between the former final brake run and Iron Dragon:

Per Google Maps, the existing canopy is 3,600 square feet, the hydraulic building is 3,000 square feet, and the building west of the brake run is 1,000 square feet, so it does indeed look like those will all be reused for TTD2.0.

Do y’all think the size/configuration of the new station will be enough to give us some hints as to train style or who may be doing the reimagine?
TTD is getting a nice power-wash today. Gotta get all nice and clean for the new parts and paint.

So maybe half the ride grey supports with red track and the other half red supports with grey track?
I think the tower will end up being either a darker grey or the grey we're seeing the brake run supports painted now. I think even a black or white tower would be sexy. What's funny was, I was with my crew during CoasterMania and jokingly said I'd like to see a orangeish shade of red for the track and dark grey supports. My friend said "Orangeish red and grey eh? Like that one? ::pointing over at Magnum::" I laughed and said "Yea, I guess that would be a bit close to Magnum." Well, I'm starting to guess I was on to something. lol

Now we have to wonder what color red will they paint the track, also this almost rules out any elements post top-hat.
Now I'm not saying there will be any elements post top hat, but in what world does a coat of paint on some supports rule anything out? Like, two days ago, since there was no paint, post top hat elements were possible but a coat of gray paint changes that somehow?

With them being painted, it is extremely unlikely that there will be any alterations. Before they were painted, their fate was anyone's guess....
Yeah, the existing supports remaining, while so much else had been removed, left open the remote possibility that these supports could be replaced by something else. But they would obviously not go through the trouble of painting them in place outdoors if they were going to replaced by other supports necessary to support new elements on that half of the ride.
