Or maybe just some upgrades to Boneville.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

One of you guys was getting excited a few posts back about a Coaster. Don't count on it! Boneville is like right behind the Red Garter and Mantis, there isn't enough room. There are a bunch of trees there and I just don't see a coaster going in there. Why would they clear out White Water Landing just to build something somewhere else the next year. That doesn't make sence, so count on something to go in White Water Landings former area in 2007.
Obiviously you haven't rode the train... Boneville is streched out among the second part of the train ride. The biggest part which is right after the train starts out of the station heads into the woods. That is where the picture was taken. That area wouldn't fit a coaster, maybe a slim flat ride, but thats it. Boneville and thier residents are there to stay, they are part of the overall themeing for Frontier Town and the Train. If they got rid of it, It would only be another mistake by Cedar Point. If anything, it would be cool to have a blog entry on some of the behind the scenes of the Boney Cilvilians. *** Edited 1/13/2006 4:06:43 AM UTC by Lakeland05***
"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
The post itself doesn't draw a red flag for me. But however, DJ's question does. That is odd, would it be so hard for Tony and Tyler to say "They are being stored in a shed in blah balahahaha" Seriously?
Also, the fact that Tony and Tyler arn't showing us the WWL site, and Walt has been not to show pics, also make you wonder. If anything like TTD could footers be placed?
I know that I might be jumping to conclusions, but just a thought.
I don't think you have anything to be getting worked up about (yet) Keith. I don't think T&T and Walt would lie if there really is nothing to see at the WWL site (that is unless they're covering something up;)).
We just have to wait till opening day to see for ourselves. And if we happen to see a fence up around the area with a "Building for the future" sign, then you can say that you were right.:)

Odds are Adam we will see that fence up come opening day of 2006. Although I don't know if I'll be able to go yet this year for opening day, I will try my hardest! And by the way lakeland dude I have ridden the train and I know how far the boneville stretches. All I'm saying is if you took out Boneville, you would ruin the excitement of the train ride. I already said a coaster wouldn't be good in there because it would be too tight and not enough room. You'd also be taking away more of the trees. I think they are just refurbishing the skeletons and they will be back in 2006. Another thing to consider is they might be getting new and funnier skeletons coming to boneville. Wouldn't that be exciting, but we can only hope.
No, in your post you specifically mentioned the boneville characters that are in front of mantis and behind the Red Garter Saloon, no where in the post did you say by Mean Streak, and if you read more of my post you would see that i don't want it taken out either.
"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
Maybe it was a simple mistake Lakeland, ever consider that?
Oh and FYI- I don't really care for your signature...even if it is your own opinion. Not so much the Skyhawk part but rather calling CP "The Disapointment Park". Not something I'd expect from a CP fan. *** Edited 1/13/2006 6:34:09 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Well, the wording in T&T's response regarding the WWL site is certainly worded very carefully...
"Pete, as we've stated before, there is nothing to see at the former WWL site. The ride is gone."

How is that carefully worded? Sounds like they are stating the obvious (or what would be obvious if anyone was allowed on the grounds during off-season).
And TTD: BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. (You do speak sheep don't you?) CP has made some disappointing decisions in recent memory. I can certainly understand Lakelands disappointment with them putting in another swinging ride. Just because its a great park doesn't put them above criticism. And the biggest critics are also the biggest fans.

I can understand his disappointment as well. Certainly the addition of Skyhawk brings the fun and excitement of the rest of the park down a notch or two. At least they didn't put in "just another coaster," considering they already have 16 of those things!
:)
My point is, with the wide selection of available flats, why go for something similar to last years addition when they could have gone with something completely different.
One reason TT posted was because of the height requirements on maXair as compared to Skyhawk. Well if that's a reason for building a new similar ride, why hasn't an inverted coaster with a lower height requirement (Raptor is 54) been built?
I have no doubt SkyHawk will be a fun ride. I'm just saying I can understand someones disappointment at going with a similar ride rather than going in a completely different direction.

Its carefully worded in that they say there is "nothing" to see, when there very likely could be (survey markings, etc.). The "carefully" comes when they say the ride is gone.
If they were to simply say there is nothing to see, they could be lying, assuming there are markings and such in the area. So, they follow that with a reference to the ride being gone, which makes it sound like they are saying the question was referring to remnants of WWL.
I'm not trying to create a conspiracy, I just thought it interesting enough to point out - that's all.

I agree, I think SkyHawk will be fun. But Cedar Point had a bunch of other flat rides they could have chosen.

Its not just Skyhawk i am disapointed about, its also partly because of Millennium Force's seatbelt situation. They basically listened to Intamin and said "ok, what the hell with the other part of MF's Ridership" I know they have gotten it down to 1/2" of slack but thats it. Now in turn that this seat belt problem, load times on MF are slower. They usually have a good fast cycle going, one train is leaving just as the other train hits the brakes, now you have always got three trains lined up whenever now.
"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
I'm just having a little fun with it. :) Someone is disappointed in the announced new attraction every year. Even Millennium Force had it's share of complaints when it was announced and it's one of the top coasters on the planet. No matter what is announced for 2007, someone will not be happy about it.
There are always those who feel like the park owes them a certain type of ride or attraction. And it's not just Cedar Point fans. CoasterBuzz is full of "my park isn't getting xyz" type posts. Some enthusiasts feel that way, I guess.
I can certainly see one advantage of Skyhawk. It's a 48" ride that is also huge and exciting. Much more of a family attraction than some other "flat" rides, certainly more so than MaXair.
Oh and just for the record, it wasn't me that wrote Tony and Tyler asking about WWL :)
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I think we all need to understand that we can't have everything our way all the time. Just because we are Enthusiasts, doesn't mean we should bash Cedar Point so much for something different that they build. Cedar Point choose to build Skyhawk to bring more people to that area of the park. So what if its a little similar to MaXair! Tell you what, I want everyone to post here and tell me if they've ever ridden a ride like Skyhawk before. If you have then you have reason to be dissapointed. If you haven't then you'll just have to wait to ride it before you really can judge. I myself have not ridden one of these yet so I think it will be fun! Pete there is another advantage and that is that Skyhawk uses lap bars unlike MaXair. So that should create an airtime feeling while riding.
First of all I am looking forward to Skyhawk. But if I was the "Boss" and just removed WWL, and was thinking of a ride to put into the "Water Rides" area I would've went for a Huss Giant Top Spin with heavy water effects.

OK maybe a different flat would have been more exciting( like a topple tower), but I guess we just have to except CP decision. Like Shawn said:

I can totally agree with you on that. Oh and sorry for my post, I guess you(as well as others) are just referring to some of CP's decisions as "Disapointing", which I guess I could agree on.
