to old emp.s: i arrive two weeks early.. why?

I can't wait for white water cleanup here in April. They seem to bond a lot of the people together. It gets messy but its a lot of fun times.

Preseason clean-up is nice because of the normal hours. It is, however, a giant shock to the system to go from working 8 (or 9) to 5 with the weekends off to working O-C every day for two weeks, especially if you are new. It is nice to be in the park and have it be empty all day, and not be in uniform. But man is the work disgusting. My one preseason clean-up experience was made a lot worse than it normally may have been for the fact that it was about 35 degrees that April, and still snowing. Sitting on the freezing cold ground and scraping gum off the queue lines...nuh-uh. After that I made sure to always have my process-in date the day before the park opened.

yes. Bring your oldest clothes. White Water Clean-up is gross. All the black sludge and you will get wet. And if they ask for volunteers.....beware you may be testing Snake River in Really cold weather. That happened to our crew in 1998.

im down for testing out the rides... lol even if it is in the water and it's 30* out...

They call this "He11 week" don't they(tried to censor it for the little ones)?

Sorry LondnLish, we have to wait like everyone else til opening day. Last year there was one day during work crew when they wanted people to ride TTD. But that was a suprise to everyone who got the chance.

For the state I do believe they have to run the ride for so many hour before anyone can go on it. And I think insurance purposes would be the other reason.

Cleaning, not that bad. I mean c'mon, you get to work at the worlds greatest amusement park. I'm gonna go into engineering and would love to get an internship (i dunno if CP even has them) dealing with engineering. If not, I'll probably take a year off between HS and college to work at CP and make some money. :)

If you proces in on May 2nd....then yeah you are going to be doing cleaning.....but you are also going to have to go to seminars too......They are fun fun fun stuff......People on coaster have to train real well and they also have to do visual boards. That is what is known as "training week". Anything before that though is clean up crew. Gotta Love those fun times though!
