Thoughts on music changes throughout the park?

How do you all feel about the new music? It was for sure kind of weird to hear all the updated music you hear on the radio in the park. I will miss all the classic songs. It was kind of music you only hear when you're at CP.

Also, question, was music updated ALL through the park or only in certain sections? In frontier town it seemed to be updated country music? Not positive though... Also, the day I went it was not so crowded so was never in line, is que music still all the same? Like Magnum and Raptor 80's music, MF, techno music. etc.?

A) personal opinion, don't like country music, but it fits the scene, B) I think the water park should stick with any beach and summer songs, C) change up on the actual rides would be great!,D) putting in speakers on the coasters itself like Universal studios does would be the greatest especially if you can choose from your favorite type of music.

I’m really happy that you are not a music programmer for the park.

A) updated country is welcome change in frontier town, and as you said it fits.

B) the tired old beach boys soundtrack from soak city was childishly tacky at best, aurally fatiguing at worst.

C) the queue TVs provide better entertainment than just music, especially in age of iPhone attention deficit disorder.

D) honestly not a fan of the on ride music option. If the ride is that lame that you’re concerned about background music, you might want to choose better rides.

CPs music update was a welcome update and refresh, the music programming is never going to make everyone happy (you NEVER will), but keeping it fresh is important to prevent aural fatigue and disinterest.

^ My only suggestion is that they move to more instrumental music. They did this in Frontiertown which I thought was a good move.

Instrumental music is what Disney, SeaWorld, and the Universal parks do. It is a much better approach. When you have a steady stream of pop music you isolate certain people who maybe can't stand a certain genre or band. The beauty in the "Orlando Approach" is that the music adds to the experience, but it's not the experience. I really don't enjoy PINK being blarred while walking down the main midway, but that's just me.

Windseeker's music is the direction I think they should go park wide. I seem to remember more "elevator" music being played along the main midway in the 1990's. I like this better.

Another cool thing Hollywood Studios does is a playlist which are classic Disney tunes done in a 1930's-1940's instrumental jazz... its fantastic!

More instrumental Music? Ever hear of muzak? No thanks.

Frontiertown should have Country Music. For the main areas of the park, what if they mixed rock n roll with summer songs. The children’s areas, continue with the children’s songs.

The water park and boardwalk speakers, what about The Beach Boys, Wipeout, things like that?

Plus: Millennium, Dragster, Maverick, Twister, bring back the station music.

My thought on the instrumental side is that it is usually easier to tolerate listening to a song you hate if it does not include the singing. As an example, if Brittany Spears is not your style of music, I bet if you heard the Muzak version of a song of hers you wouldn't mind it as much.

I was with a friend in an upscale department store. There was a grand piano, and the music the pianist was playing was so famliar, but we couldn't place it. So we asked. He was playing a Spice Girls song.

That's awesome. XD I'm a sucker for classicalized pop music- the Vitamin String Quartet is awesome for that, and so is Raimin Djawadi (who does the gorgeous covers for 'Westworld'.)

Probably a bit too 'fancy' for amusement park fare, though. :P

The music along Frontier Trail last year was very enjoyable to me. There were no lyrics, just music being played in a twangy, countryish sound. But the thing I enjoyed about it was that most tunes were recognizable to me as classic rock songs from the 70's & 80's. I would hear some of the song and think "man that tune sounds familiar".

That style worked in that area, not certain which genre of music would work elsewhere. I was in Castaway Bay this week and the island music they blared in the changing rooms really bothered me mon.

My favorite park music is still the bluegrass stylized pop/rock music in KI’s Rivertown...

Same. It really doesn't matter to me what music they play in the park, that's not why I'm there, but I will admit there were times last year when we were walking through the Frontier Trail section and would hear something like DMB playing, and we thought that was pretty cool. Those bluegrass covers seem to fit well there.

Respectfully disagree, if I were the music program director there would be a lot of heavy metal playing🤘👹😎

^And as a metal drummer and overall heavy music fan in general, I can say that you wouldn't last very long as the "music program director" at CP.

There’s no reason they can’t mix it up with different genres. Not everybody likes today’s hits, just like not everybody likes country. And as much as it hurts to admit, not everybody wants to hear classical rock. But switch it up a bit. I will say, I like the current selection now compared to the Kinzel era.

It was pretty awesome walking by Gemini last season and hearing them 70s tunes.
