The new stuff is still better than the Magnum P.I. theme song that has been playing on the midway since the '80's.

My nostalgic favorite from their past playlist is the Percy Faith version of Theme From "A Summer Place." Just thinking about that song takes me right back to the feel of the park in the 1990s. It's about as schlocky as easy listening music ever got, but it somehow epitomizes the way I see that park in my mind's eye, if not in reality.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
At Cedar Point, I swear they played Call Me Maybe like 20 times the day I was there. I dont know if it had anything to do with the concert, but this was like a month before it.
At MiA, they play Kidz Bop. Anywhere in the back of the park, it's all Kidz Bop. It drives me crazy everytime I'm there. Its everywhere, except for the distorted Rihanna in the Thunderhawk line.
I finally heard the new park music for the first time on Tuesday and for the most part, I was very disappointed. Hearing Adele and Call Me Maybe while walking the midways gave me shivers. And the remixed Beyonce and other hip-hop that was playing later in the day on the Main Midway was even worse. I did, for the most part, enjoy the updated country playlist in Frontier Town.

For the record the, change in music makes the atmosphere more upbeat. You're just hearing the fanboy in me who doesn't like change.

On opening day, in line for Magnum, I heard this 80s song, the chorus goes like "Nobody touch...." But I do not know the actual song's name...It's a dance-like song that starts with drums. Does anyone know who sings it?
I was there in the 80s. Your clues are not ringing a bell.
Anyway, I miss the midway muzak of the 70s. Those were grand times.
I hope eventually music is added to GK's queue. I saw lots of speakers but with the exception of a rare announcement, nothing was playing from them.

The music on the midways are all modern songs. Even Frontier Town has newer country songs playing. I wish they would blend it with some of the older stuff. Not sure how long I can listen to One Direction play this summer.
Let's Get Weird.
I do miss hearing Love Shack 5 times a day though.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
It is about time Cedar Point gets up to date music throughout the park. I couldn't handle some of the songs that were played multiple times throughout the day.
The best part of it all, is the God Bless America that is played. The version they had for years up to 2012 was awful! I'm so glad they got a new one to kick off the day
