this is my first year, i just had a few questions

As a Zone 1 Sweep, I test rode Raptor (the day the cobra roll cracked) because they needed weight in the train to counteract the winds. But usually unless you're a ride op you won't be test riding - that's reserved for the ops opening the rides. And matt's right, there are ride nights for employees after hours several times each month. Of course, you can always ride when you're off duty too, so long as you're not in uniform! :)

When you do get time off, Cleveland is only 45min. away, and Toledo is about an hour away. So, if you get tired of CP and Sandusky on your days off, and you will, go on a road trip, you will love it !! I highly recommend seeing Put-in-bay, very nice place, nice boat ride over there.
Those of you who have the time, would you send me your pictures too and tell me which rides you are going to be working. Thanks.

You ARE going to be pretty tired on your days off. However, you have to keep thinking that you only have the summer, and that in 2 or 3 months all of your new friends will be leaving. Take advantage of every opportunity and don't forget to take pictures!!

Put in Bay and Kelly's Island are nice for a day trip if you are 21. (It is only half as fun if you aren't!!) A lot of people take two days off and go to Windsor, Canada with friends. If you like just cruising around and seeing what is out there, take a trip out around Marblehead. There are a lot of nice homes out there, and some good food places. It really doesn't matter where you go, just take someone fun with you!!

I'm definitely going to have to apply earlier if I work at the Point next summer...

I'm another Newbie, just got hired for Food Services in one of the small food-shops, mainly because I applied too late to get my first choice: Ride Op.

I've been to the Point before, though... Early last summer. I've only ridden Millennium Force twice though :(

Disadvantages of home being 15 hours away from the Point.
