This clip answears A LOT of questions!

Regarding launch vs. lift hill...

IF Project 2007 is launched, it will most likely be a consideration of the space required for a lift hill.

Wicked Twister and Top Thrill Dragster featured launches because of the specific nature of the rides (back and forth, 120 mph speed).

Unless CP wants to build a bigger and better SheiKra, what lift hill element is left for them to achieve?

If you haven't figured it out yet, the track isn't B & M. IT'S Intamin! Intamin doesn't make dive coasters (yet)

That ride looks very boring and not fun at all. There aren't even any hills over 100ft.... The trains are just like 4-d trains too.... Not enough room to build that CP in that area.

Cuz you know, it's just IMPOSSIBLE to build a thrilling coaster that isn't 100 feet tall.

The video is a concept video of what's going in next year at Port Aventura, which is in SPAIN. Not Sandusky, Ohio. And the video isn't even meant to be a realistic representation of what the ride will be like, it's just supposed to show the train design and a general idea of what it's capable of.

Is it possible that Cedar Point and Port Aventura are both building similar coasters? Absolutely. Do I think they are? Eh, I think this train design is something we may see, but there's no evidence to suggest it other than that both coasters are Intamin.

This video answers nothing, as people have known about the Port Aventura train design for months now.

Seriously, I don't know if I can stand another three months or whatever of complete nonsense rationalization. It has nothing to do with what I know or I don't know. Drawing conclusions out of thin air is completely ridiculous. If you want to make guesses, knock yourself out if they're based on some kind of actual, logical evidence, but just because you find some completely unattributed video on YouTube doesn't mean anything. I mean, when people can upload complete nonsense like this, you shouldn't exactly consider YouTube as something that will expose the Kennedy Assassination conspiracy or find Jimmy Hoffa.

It really has nothing to do with YouTube. The movie (and I don´t care if it´s on youtube or cnn.com) shows a new train type (that we already knew excisted) used for PortAventura´s 2007 coaster. I would agree that the title for this topic would have sounded better like "Possible traintype for Project 2007?".

Jeff said:

So let's review. The only things we can really be reasonably sure of is that:
1) It's Intamin because there's Intamin track at the park.
2) It's red, because there's red Intamin track at the park.
3) It's going to be in Frontier Town, because they're pouring footers all over the place.

The rest is just silly conjecture based on desire, fantasy and kitty porn on YouTube.

Well, I completely agree, except for the last two lines. I´ll keep saying that (if we are still allowed to speculate, that is ;) ): this is by far the best bet yet. Noone can ignore that "sidewindin´", "2+2", "spurs" and double footers, could point in the direction of a WingWalker or WindWalker (or whatever that train type will be called).

If this guess is so bad, just say "The trains of Project 2007 are not gonna bear resemblance to the ones of PortAventura", and I will believe you and stop speculating in that - because I actually do think, that you know what it is ;)

One more thing :) : Should we make one thread for talking about the 3 known facts (Red, Intamin, Frontiertown), where all speculating beyond the 3 known facts is forbidden, and one thread for speculating beyond the 3 known facts? It might help people getting along. (Just a joke, of course. I´m just tired of hearing people complaining all the time).

R.I.P. MrScott ~~<@

I just saw the clip for the first time. And, I have to agree with most of what is being said. This looks like a fairly decent possibility for what might be coming in 2007. I think it's great.

Now, for any of you who are worried that this ride looks boring, keep this in mind... Anytime CP builds something new, they build it bigger and better than anyhting else around! TTD was more than twice the height of any other rocket coaster when it was built. Millennium Force broke 11 world records when it was built. Wicked Twister is the only double-twisting impulse coaster in the world. Even Skyhawk and MaXair are the biggest and best of their kind.

IF this is the project CP has planned, then we need not worry about it being boring. If it's new and it's at Cedar Point, it will be breath-taking ... and I, for one, can't wait to lose my breath riding it! (Whatever "it" is! :-P)

The clip looks like what Cedar Point could be getting for 2007. You honestly never know though(besides a red intamin coaster.)

Unlike most of you though I dont believe anyone who posts on this site has any idea what is coming(More then the obvious) including Jeff. Infact I dont remember him ever saying he knows what is gonna come. He is always pretty slick with his words.

Read between the lines? Just read the lines!

It wasn't meant literally. What was meant is that often times people misread, or overinterperet what is said here, and your posts seem subject to that moreso than anyone else's. So, in essence, I was saying people should read in between the lines by actually reading the lines.

And I'm sure that comment won't make much sense to anyone but me, but that's beside the point.

I don't know why people keep saying they "know" its going to be red. its not going to be red... they have a new painting system, the red is just primer and the bright pink they are putting on it will be applied by sprayer once its installed *** Edited 6/23/2006 1:46:37 AM UTC by liebevision***

Demon Drop 2004
Castaway Bay Lifeguard 04-05

A hot pink coaster??? Man that's just what the park needs!!! The greatest advertising ploy ever!!! You can be the one to ride the world's first PINK colored Ride anywhere.

That'll go over well with the guys...Score you big "man" points riding a pink coaster :)

The track is RED not PINK. I could see it though pink track with yellow supports. The strawberry limonade coaster is the best! ;)

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

Is there an actual Pink roller coaster out there?, other than a super wimpy one of course...

I don't think there are any well known coasters that are pink. I have seen several wildmouse and carnival coasters that were pink, but never on huge coaster.

Also this is a thread about a video animation not pink coasters. I got a little off subject.

This was the random roller coaster on RCDB when I went there to look for a pink coaster. They're reading my thoughts.

Jeff Young

Xcelerator?

I sorry me is a little slow. I can't believe I didn't remember that one. It's a little red, but definatly on the pink side.

I'm not counting on any video or anything else until an announcement.

There you go. This ride unlike TTD, will NOT be known untill CP wants you to know.

I remember all the height and speed estimates of TTD that all the other members of this site were predicting (95% of them wrong), and it ALL boiled down to an announcement.

Track, space, manufacturer are obviously known. But, to say that CP is going to build a similar ride from an unknown park in Spain (and here's the video to prove it), is CRAZY.

Sorry to rain down on your parade ;p

I still think water will be involved with this ride. :)

MrScott

Mayor, Lighthouse Point

So do I, but in no way will it go in the water through some aquarium or get you wet. ;)

It is obviously going to have an element over the Swan Boat pond seeing as there are footers scattered throughout it. But what do I know. :)

New Season of 'The Office'. TONIGHT!!!

In what way Mr. Scott?

My opinion, water rides should stay in water parks and roller coasters should be kept in amusment parks.

Honestly, I only enjoy waters rides when I'm going to be soaked all day at a water park.

As far as project 2007 having water involved, I hope it's because CP uses the bay as space for a 500 footer :).
