Hey just a quick crazy question. Just wondering, what do they do with the animals once the park is closed for the season? Is there a local farm they go to?
They take them to a farm in Kentucky. That's where all the farm employees are from. They also said they will be bringing most of the same big animals back, like the Llamas etc. But different smaller animals.

The employees used to rotate with Pet Chek and were not from Kentucky. Some animals also become food. Not sure if that's the way it goes today, but it used to go that way.

Idk it may have changed but that's just what one of the girls working there told me.

I think that's like the equivalent of telling a small child that you are taking their pet dog or cat to go live on a "farm."
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't tell you (even if it's true) that they will be used for food or otherwise destroyed, although I hope she is telling the truth about the farm.
Back in the 90's it was possible to get on a list to purchase some animals at the end of the season. We signed up for a goat one year but never heard back.
I visited the petting farm for the first time today and I was surprised by just how busy it was, i wonder if they'll look to expand it in the offseason.

This topic isn't too old so I figured I would bring it back. Anyone go through the petting farm when they're at Cedar Point? I know I do! I like going up to the sheep or goats most of the time when I'm there. I just noticed this year that they have a donkey! I've never seen a donkey in the petting farm? Have they been there or are they new this year?
I don't know if they have had donkeys at the petting farm but there sure have been a lot of them posting here.

Ironic post is ironic.
Shawn, I'm pretty sure they had a donkey last year. I go to the petting farm every time I visit the park, I spend a lot of time in there, and I spend a lot of money buying feed for the animals. My favorite animals are the llamas! I also love going into the big fenced in area to see the goats, and the pigs!

Taking a break with a beverage from Trail Tavern while walking thru the petting farm right now! It's evolved into a great venue.
