The station is going up!

It is probably me that is "all wet". Just my interpretation of what I watched as it happened. I wasn't referring to the lake "raising", but of wave damage due to high waves, similar to damage reported in the news story about Hurricane Sandy damage and beach erosion. Your point about them pouring the footers is an excellent point.

Guess we will find out on Saturday.

So the stairs went up today, maybe we will be allowed into the station on Saturday?

Not unless we can find 100 hard hats ... and a construction manager who is OK with that many people walking through his site. :)

Then let's just ask to walk up the lift. There's no over head construction going on there, so you wouldn't need a hardhat. Problem solved! :)

seems like an awefull lot of empty area where space spiral used to be. I wonder what they are going to put there if anything?

I would bet you still need a hard hat. Some construction sites require you to wear a hardhat in all areas and at all times. I once worked in a new hospital going up that required this, even when it was close to being finished and the drop ceiling was already in.

I bet it will be a nice space with some picnic tables to grab a snack and watch the new coaster and WT and Giant Wheel and Max Air, etc. I wouldn't mind getting some chili cheese fries and heading over to that area to enjoy Gatekeeper in action

The "planter" gets yet more concrete.... hmmm

I can't wait to see more life in that corner of the park again! The front of the park has been neglected for a while up until 2011 when Windseeker was introduced.

Either the split is way too early causing the line to slow down...

The only thing that slows down the line is trains dispatching less frequently (or partially empty). A split in the line isn't going to cause that.

I work in the material department at GM assembly plant. Anytime when we have to build storage racks we have to wear hard hats. That is our safety reqirement that GM has at all their plants. The load station is really coming along nicely. I wonder if they started putting in rows & gates yet.

It looks like the GateKeeper entrance plaza area sketches have been released. It's going to look very nice. However, I don't even know what I'm looking at in half of them.

I am confused as well, not exactly sure where this all is. Anyone care to elaborate?

I think I've figured it out. The 3rd is along the beach with those things on the right being the queue and that area in the center is the entrance plaza with the sculpture and beach-side seating. You can actually see the Giant Wheel in the 3rd picture for perspective.

In the 2nd picture, if I had to guess, those are the stairs and that circle thing is where Space Spiral used to be. I like how they're dividing this. The stairs will lead to the eating area with the area to the left leading to the entrance plaza.

I think I have figured out the second picture. The white thing towards the top is the giftshop and exit. The lower white thing is the existing food shops. The blue and tan thing is the covered eating area. The crescent shaped wall is the existing wall with Trioka it the upper left corner. Bottom left is the eastern support poles for Max Air.

How did I do?

Pretty good :). What I was saying us I think the blue and tan covering is coming out from where Space Spiral used to be as a nice little touch.

Also, the "planter" is in fact the large Gatekeeper sign.

...and still technically a planter! Many plants will go in it! ;)

The only thing I am confused about is the third picture. What is the large white building in the lower right corner. Based on the faint layout within this building, it doesn't look like the station. Also, there are no marks for the track coming out of this building and turning around to head up the lift. Thoughts? Answers?
