I was just wondering as always that do you all think it is possible to change some of the rides at the point?
Such as the ride Mantis being a floor-less coaster or a hyper twister instead of a stand up and /or Iron Dragon having the tubs taken off and being replaced with chair type seats like Raptor has and/or maybe adding some scenery to the ride.
Or maybe possibly Changing the cars to the older rides with newer more comfortable ones that are more up to date, they have done that to a few of the rides like Blue Streak by using what it looks like spare parts from Mean Streak.
It would be a cheaper way to give those rides a breath of fresh air if you all know what i mean, the track lay out's are really good on those rides but in there own special way they are either uncomfortable or the way the trains ride them is just really not that exciting anymore.
What do you all think about this? Since they are not going to build anything new really except for the fact of STR, we are all caught in a coaster limbo.
Sure they have Maverick but now Hershey has Fahrenheit which looks way cooler, they both have the same type of trains and inverted drop but one is 95 and the other is 97 and let's not forget TTD ,ok it was great and still is of course but Six Flags comes out with there 450 monster Kinda-Ka both are the same but one has a Air Time Hill-Is cedar point jumping too fast to just build something?
I mean are they scared to build something really wild or what ?
and what i mean wild is look at Hydra at dorney park or X or Tatsu or Viper at six flags, I think cedar point is getting soft! I'm sorry to say it but it looks that way in my book some may or may not agree.
LOL.

You might want to look into the possibility of changing your existing writing style so that others can understand what you're trying to say.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

There are close to 10 new coasters for 2010 in the US alone....therein lies the cure for your "coaster limbo." Maybe its time you went to one of those parks, enjoy it, and stopped worrying about how Cedar Point may or may not fall short of them.
Nick
Nothing is free. Cedar Fair probably does not have a whole lot of money sitting around considering they are currently being bought out.

Think about what you said about CP's coasters being "more wild and intense" Those other parks may have built their versions with a little more twists and turns, but CP has created them FIRST. Yeah Ka has that airtime hill, but TTD was built FIRST and to pass the 400 foot barier. (with the exception of superman at Magic Mountain.) MF was the first to pass 300 feet. Magnum for 200, and so on. Half those parks probably looked at CP's collection of goodies, and said Hey let's build one just like theirs (CP's), but put more elements in ours! :)
Why would they change Iron Dragon or Top Thrill Dragster? There is nothing wrong with them and why would they waste money on something that isn't broken? Fahrenheit has to be the worst ride I have ever been on. It is not weighting 3 hours for 3 12 passenger trains load.

Yeah, seriously. If you want to ride something different, visit some different parks. The line up at Cedar Point is pretty great, and well rounded. Sure a new thing would be nice, but they can't build a new coaster every year.
Sure they can. All they have to do is click on the Rides icon, then scroll down to "Roller Coasters". From there it is simply a matter of selecting which type, and then merely click on the particular pre-designed layout that looks the way coolest.

Oh I get it. You're using rollercoaster tycoon as a methaphor for it not being that easy. Lol :P
I think Mantis could be redone to make it a floorless but the station would have to be completely redone to accomodate
the droped floor. Iron Dragon wont get seats like Raptor because Arrow never had trains like that unless Cedar Point would get the trains from Vekoma. If Cedar Point did this it would take away the integrity of the ride for the fact the cool element is that the seats rock back and forth. I feel Mine Ride should get the old Trains that Gemini had when it ran all 6 trains. I do beleve both tracks are the same gage.

08 Mean Streak

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!
Save The Big Dipper!
I dont really know if you *could* change around the rides. They're engineered for certain weights and types of trains. It might be possible but that would be a huge and not necessarily a needed expense (maybe except Mean Streak)
Did anybody ever play the old 'Leisure Suit Larry' games back in the day? Remember those general knowledge history questions you had to answer at the beginning of every game to prove you were really 18?
I vote for a system similar to that for posting on this site. Sort of a CAPTCHA for pre-pubescent RCT fanatics.
...the Blue Streak seats were updated with spare parts from Mean Streak? Seriously?
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."

Did you honestly put those two sentences together with a straight face?

I don't consider TTD broken because I very much enjoy
that ride. Even suggesting a way to improve
MeanStreak however, is ridiculous, because that ride
is beyond hope.IMHO
If they enhance rides (e.g. replace CCMR restraints so as to fit persons larger than Miley Cyrus) instead of building new ones, then people grumble about not getting their desired 550'-high, fifth-dimension, eleven-inversion, floorless, flying watercoaster. When they build something groundbreaking and it breaks down a lot, it's all gripes about using unproven technology and "They should have installed retractable belts on Dodge'em instead."
Just give me a 8000'-long woody with plush, La-Z-Boy recliner seats which rolls slicker than cowslobber over 15 airtime hills in a bucolic setting, and finishes with a one 540-degree high-speed helix clockwise, transitioning to another 540-degrees counterclockwise. Either that or re-paint MF; it's all the same.
Q: Who did Nixon defeat in the 1972 presidential election? If you said South Dakota Senator George McGovern, you are old enough to play Leisure Suit Larry.
Just say no to trims

OK I get everyone's point, What ever.
I just had a thought and made a statement.
I did not say anything was dumb or broken I just thought that maybe it would be a good idea for those things to happen.
We all know it s not going to happen but can't someone make the statement with out being attacked? but anyways
Look how SF turned around and re-did X and look what CP did to Avalanche Run some for the worse and some for the better.
Oh and by the way BS has old MS parts look at the lap bars and the head rests! cause back in the day they did not have those on there(Head rests) and it had a single lap bar not individual.
But I guess i'll get attacked for that statement too, but on the topic I say a ride with seats That were 2x2 and it looked like they were from an arrow design, that was modified-Look on RCDB and I'm sure you can find what I'm saying cause i got the picture of it on my lap top, when you find it you will know what I'm talking about.
And Thank you for attacking me i just really love it,keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!
I think they should make the Matterhorn go backward as well as forward, it would enhance the ride experience :)
Matterhorn does not go backward.
You want a ride like that which does go backward, then the ride needs to be replaced with a Flying Bobs, Rock & Roll, or Schlittenfährt. It isn't safe to run a Matterhorn backward.
The modifications made to the Blue Streak in 1994 were unfortunate.
The modifications made to the Blue Streak in 1996 were tragic.
