Well, everyone is always asking if the mist is on in the tunnel, so why not make a thread for it.
So, this is the place to post if you are at the park and see if the mist is on/off. That way, we will all know the status of the mist.
I know this is old, but the mist was on June 27th.
I was there on the 29th and 30th, and I'm almost positive the mist was on. If somebody else was there too, correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, I thought I saw mist in Magnum's last tunnel, which made me happy.
The mist is in the tunnel. When it's on, you can't see a thing other than the lights at the very end. One thing I noticed was the on-ride photos don't look so good with the mist. It almost looks like a ghosted image.

I haven't seen it since the Maverick ERT for Joe Cool club members. It's been off for the 5 times I have visited since then.

All I can say is that I am so glad I went to the Maverick Joe Cool ERT. People may laugh, but the mist adds SO much to that tunnel section. I miss it. And now, on hot days, that tunnel feels like being launched through a sandwich oven at Quiznos....

The mist was not on yesterday and I rode Maverick throughout the day. The only time I've ever seen it on was during the Red Cross rides and for a short bit after that. It really does add to the experience in the tunnel so I hope they get it fixed at some point (although I'm beginning to lose hope). And yeah, you can really feel the heat at the end of the tunnel!!

It really does add a lot to the ride. It's hard to explain until you ride in the front seat, with and without the mist. The launch is very different with it on.

When I was there on the 22nd of July the mist wasn't on for both of my rides. One was at 10am and the other at 9:15pm.

It does add so much. I have ridden it with(June 27th) and without(August 2nd) and it is so much cooler with it on.
I was talking to a ride op about it being off, and he said it may never come back. He said the mist causes too many problems, but he didn't say what the problems were.
The mist is not "broken", it's simply turned off because of the problems it's been causing. While I'm pretty sure Cedar Point would not like me to disclose those problems, I'm just posting to say that the mist DOES work, it's just that Cedar Point needs to find a way to have it work and not cause problems.

That is what the ride op told me. He said that it is just off because it causes too many problems. As much as it adds to the ride, it isnt smart to keep using something that can cause problems.
A lot of parks have issues with mist and the guest tend to complain especially when it's in an enclosed space. SFGAm had to get rid of the mist in the tunnel of the line for Batman because people were complaining about it causing respiratory distress.
Like flying through 5 inversions in 49 seconds is good for the lungs.
I wonder if the steam will ever come back in the tunnel..or the mist.
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Well, I would love for the mist to come back. They should have it on during Joe Cool Club ERT on Sept. 7th.

My guess is that they will only use it for special events. Like they did for media day.
My guess is when its Coastermania, ERT Nights, Opening day, etc.
