I would also rather have a GCI twister than a CCI. GCI's seem much more out of control that CCIs. Anyone ever been on Gwazi? That's one of my favs.. Out an backs are ok, but they are repetitive. up, down, up , down again, all in a mostly straight fashion. Twisters throw you everywhere, very cool.

How about this for a woodie?
2 lift hills, first one about 135-140 feet (same as The Beast) and give it the "Shivering Timbers" feel to it. Big hills, massive air. Put a double helix turnaround like SOB, but only about 2/3 the size and speed. (so it does not shake itself to death) A few more camel-backs and you hit the second lift hill, this one not more than 95 feet. On that one, make a twister that cuts in and out of the superstructure of the "ST" part of the ride. Total track lenght of around 8,000 would grab the record, so do it. A 3 in 1 coaster that breaks a record and ensures rave reviews. How about that?

I think it would be cool to have a Shivering Timbersbent around in a circle.

Whatever the coaster is....it's gotta have high capacity and it's gotta be a big addittion to the coaster collection. CP doesn't add non noteworry the coasters. Personally, I'd go with the inversion-record breaking floorless. Then, build a 175-200 foot woodie. Just because I really want a inversion record breaker and what better way to do this than with a floorless!

Saying that followed up Magnum comment is like asking what followed up your first wash cycle on your washing machine. It all depends on the cycle you set it on.
I agree, that did confuse me too so I will get right to the point.
Say that he was telling the truth about following up Magnum. That really doesn't mean anything, and that employee new it. That could mean anything from it being a roller coaster, to a woody, to a new dark ride. Maybe they will even enclose another coaster. That comment he made gave us about as many answers as Macaroni and Cheese on a Cold November day.

Right On Magnum is Sinking, in the ten year span from Magnum to now, there has been 3 steel coasters, 1 woodie, many rides & a giant building to enclose Avalanch Run. By saying think after Magnum doesnt mean right after, it could be any where from then to now, not the next year or two.

Exactly, that official either had no idea what was coming to the PO!NT, or was very, VERY smart. He worded that perfectly. There are at least 10 different possibilities, and I was discussing those with my friend in the Turbo Drop queue Monday. We came up with: (Remember, I'm probably certifiably nuts, and these are to be taken as entertainment, just like ThrillRide!'s rumors)
1. Wooden Twister
2. Enclosure of Blue Streak, or addition of tunnels
3. Return of DT to Avalanche Run (Highly unlikely)
4. Deca-Inverted Floorless
5. Dark Ride
6. TA2K (I like that one)
7. Other woodie
8. More flat rides
9. Fixing of Mean Streak (READ: Millennium Flyer Trains)
10. (Here comes the {to steal a phrase}Whopper of the Week) STAND-UP INVERTED! He he he!!!

I have a great feeling that one of those WILL show up. I'm at least 85% sure about it. I really like 4, 6, 7, and 8.

Personally, I would pick 9 as my favorite over all the others, even a new rollercoaster, although #1 is a very close second. I would love to experience Mean Streak the way the designers intended it to be. It's a fun ride the way it is, but imagine it with Millennium Flyer trains, and greased a lot, with some more retracking. Wow, that sends tingles down my spine when I think of the potential for it.

It says in 'Cedar Point The Queen of American Watering Places'(availible at your local library)
"In 1980 we new that anything we built would bbe judged by Magnum's standards so we converted the existing Avalanche Run to Disaster Transport."
My prediction: They will Fix Mean Streak. Think about it, they know that people don't like the extreame roughness and they dont want to waste all the money they have spent. ----I they made it smoother it would be my second favorite wooden only to the beast.

My prediction is that minutes after they announce their 2001 plans, someone will begin the speculation for 2002.
Sorry, couldn't resist :)

Nash, I gotta correct you. The year was "1990". In 1980, the newest coasters were Gemini and Jr. Gemini. Just thought I would be an @$$ and point that out.
