tell the difference between a regular and a tourist

I figured you got it clown man :). It's just so darn much fun.

At the end of the night, if they left early they're a tourist. If they rode MF, TTD or Maverick last you cant tell, but if they road another ride multiple times right before closing they're a regular.

If they ask where I got my Banshee shirt, they are a regular.

If they ask where/what Banshee is they are a tourist.

Thuggin....

Thuggin on the weekends, and holidays, and when my boss isn't watching.

Really? Part of being a regular is the abililty to come and go at will...and not feel like one has to stay until closing in my opinion.

Well, now we might be talking about a Regular versus a Hardcore Cedar Point Extreme 1,000 Laps on WildCat Regular. :)

Crap, my secret's out. I'd better burn this polka dot hat and bright orange shirt...

Regulars know that the first hour (well 2 if you count ERT) and the last hour are the best times to ride at CP.

I dont see any tourists on "First Monday"...or first tuesday, wednesday, thursday...

With good weather, those days are absolutely unforgettable, if you are lucky enough to have a "flexible" job and get to the point.

Regulars hope it rains. Tourists cancel their trip at a chance of rain.

And some of us regulars live 3 hours away, so staying until close isn't really safe for the ride home. Putting your life at risk on the expressway isn't worth a few more rides to cap off an already amazing day.

^3 hours is totally doable with a 10 pm close, I know I live 3 hrs from KI, do it all the time. Im good until 2 am, after that I cant be on the road and expect to drive 100%, I know from experience. Thankfully, 3 hours puts me home between 1:00-1:30.

Come October though, I get a hotel room for a Friday night and make a Friday-Saturday trip out of it and leave after one last haunt and lap on the Beast. Usually that gets me out between 8 and 9.

I've never left the park at close and driven home .. it's always worth a hotel stay for me because I prefer to stay till close. I'm 3 hours from the Point and have never done just a 1 day trip there - it's always at least one afternoon/evening and the entire next day until close. I do drive home after close (even during the Haunt) from KI though, because it's less than an hour for me. Though my husband isn't allowed to drive home on those trips anymore after the run-in with Waynesville police at an ungodly hour of the morning... =P

Tourist; "What time is the 10 o'clock Laser light show?" Sorry, just had to state that. :)

All those tourists who squat walk through entrance stating "Am I tall enough?"

The girls in the bathroom, brushing their hair and trying to make it look all nice. :)

Or if you are working Raptor entrance "Do you know how long the wait is for The Millennium Force?"

"When will the rain stop?"

Regulars; We know the park, and most the time know how to avoid the long lines. We know where to find the best food deals, the best places to eat and best places to stay. We all ought to get paid for promoting Sandusky businesses. :)

When I lived in Michigan I lived 3 hours from CP. We went twice last year, and they were both just day trips. We stayed till closing. Actually a bit later, because we watched some brave people ride Sky Scraper. We were absoultely fine driving home. I guess it is the adrenaline rush after having a wonderful day at Cedar Point. :)

As long as someone else in the car is awake and we keep conversation up I'm fine for the drive home. The Turnpike is usually the worst part, once I get to I75 and up the speed I'm good to go.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

For me the worst part is between Sandusky and I-75 ... because I go back roads instead of the turnpike (takes about 20 minutes off the drive that way) and I hate driving all those two lane backroads in the middle of the night after a long day. And then I feel like once I get to 75 I should be almost home, but it's another 2 hours from there....

I was once in line for Iron Dragon and I heard someone ask "does this coaster go upside down?" So obviously they wern't a regular.

I too take the back roads because your right, it saves about 20 minutes on drive time, and I like that bridge they put up in Toledo. I like driving over it because not only does it take 10 minutes off of drive time to route 2, it also makes it feel like your flying above the city.

Other PB'ers can attest to the fact I will drive 5 hours home when the park closes at 10 PM, and we still drive 5 hours home when the park closes at midnight.

The most annoying drive is driving from Chicago at 5 A.M EST, and then arriving home in "4 hours", but really 3.

Sleep when I die, and on the weeekends.

It's really intriguing how far you can travel across the U.S.A in a period of 24 hours.

I don't know about the difference between a regular and a tourist, because I love CP...but only get there maybe once or twice a year. So does that make me a regular, or a tourist?

What I can tell is who was riding coasters all day long and who wasn't. At least for girls. You can tell by their make up and hair. If it is still perfect, they obviously havn't been riding all day long. I do my hair and make up before I go anywhere. But after 1 ride on Gemini (usually my first ride of the morning), I'm already looking like a ho bo.

Those are generally the girls that are in the bathroom after every ride.
